Excellent product, intuitive to use, great step by step. raises all the right questions. Extremely helpful in doing a sole proprietor business would be a nightmare otherwise. checks for all the available deductions. keeps excellent records great help from loading last years taxes.
What's great about it: ease of useod information, help screens excellent
What's not so great: a fer areas a little confuding

TurboTax 2013 Home And Business-"smooth as butter"

Our experience with TurboTax 2013 Home And Business was "smooth as butter"! We really liked it!
We are moderately experienced with TurboTax software, having used it for several years. We usually go to the "Forms" part, and use last years stored records as a guide, in order to not "miss anything". This way we complete our taxes much quicker.
Then we go back through with the "Step-ByStep" Guide Me approach to check ourselves.
What's great about it: Thorough coverage of all tax issues available to "savvy users".

Capabilities Removed-Need to Reinstate

As always an excellent product and helps streamline and properly develop and deliver my annual income taxes.
However, several changes in 2013 that degrade/detriment the product:
1. "Save As" function removed - does not allow for audit trail as tax forms are updated, corrected, and what-if runs are made - cannot go back to previous version to check for entry chnages
2. If user makes erroneous entries, program automatically saves file not allowing to close document and reopen to previous "good" state
3. RE: Misc Itemized worksheets - removed the "sort table" capability - no longer can sequence entries for either alpha or numeric sorting
It is regrettable these changes were made - they degrade the quality of the product from a user perspective - suggest future editions reinstate the capabilities.
Other items may have been changed that I did not notice or become impacted by.
The product quality remains generally good, but this made the 2013 experience less enjoyable (if preparing taxes is a "fun event").

Help topics most excellent

This was a complicated year for me. I sold a home, financed another, and had questions about both transactions. The Help screens answered my questions to my satisfaction. I have tried a rival 1040 prep software and find TurboTax to be much more comprehensive. Thanks for a great product.

Step by step tax prep

Overall my TurboTax experience has been a very good one. The electronic question and answer system works very well. There were a couple of areas where I wished I was an accountant so that I would be able to more easily answer the questions.
Next year I will definitely use TurboTax.

Love Turbo Tax!

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years now. I love how last year's info gets transferred automatically to the new year. I have had a few times where a question I needed answered wasn't in the Help Center info. You can contact an actual English speaking human and get any question answered within minutes. Thanks Turbo Tax!!! See you next year!
