Overall good, as usual for tax returns although this year it will not print my returns!
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: will not print my return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

disappointed that turbotax did not complete all the forms for my state tax. I expect that service from you. also the program still has some confusing parts for small business that again, I expect them to be figured by the program and not so hard for me.

I found it difficult to move into different schedules, i.e. Capital Gains and Losses when I had a carryover from 2012 and was never offered the option to review/consider it. The same applies to Sch C, I had expenses and was never considered even though I was working with the Home and Business Version. I had a minimum income but still had expenses. Again had to go into the form and fill it out on my own. It should always offer that option, "do you have any expenses related to the business?"
What's great about it: I hope it is accurate and uptodate on the law, it is easy to use, and fast.
What's not so great: It did not bring up last years info. even though I have been using it for at least 10 years.

Kansas Return

Kansas Form K-40 & Schedule S (Non-resident, Married Filing Jointly) 1. Initial Problem: None of the Federal data transferred to the Kansas forms. Resolved with a call to TTAX Tech Support (Delete state form and try again). 2. Calculations resulted in over $400 tax due. Failed to populate certain lines on Sch S, Part A. Had to manually enter Sch S, Part A, Line A24. This entry resulted in $0 tax liability (Correct because all Kansas income was non-taxable due to exemption for all Kansas income from trusts, estates, etc.(Kansas House Bill 2117, Section 12 -- Enacted 2012). 3. E-file failed on three trys, stating losses from rental realestate, trusts, estates, could not be a negative number. There was no entry, positive or negative, on Sch. S, Part A, line A6 on the first two E-file attempts. Third attempt included a positive number on line A6, but the rejection came back with the same solution suggested. 4. Contacted Kansas Department of Revenue support on the E-file problem. The entries were reviewed and deemed to be correct without an entry on A6 as there were no losses incurred. Recommended paper filing be mailed in.
Conclusion: TTAX Kansas program is seriously flawed. Refund for Kansas TTAX program and E-file would be appropriate and is requested.

Business tax .. you need to have an understanding of business and taxes if you do this.. if not you will miss a lot of deductions.
What's great about it: straight forward with either forms or they walk you thru it.
What's not so great: really not for the average user. especial business taxes..
Pros: I bought or sold investments
