Turbo review

Overall satisfactory. We'll probably use it again next year.
What's great about it: Made tax calculation -- especially worksheets -- easy.
What's not so great: Made several entry errors which we had to correct. it is not an erasy site to navigate.

Thanks! You do a great job helping us simply a tax code that is way too cumbersome. We learn from Turbo Tax each year as we attempt to connect the dots to the IRS codes and forms.

What's not so great: No live person to ask questions Don't like the post it boards

Unacceptable State return

Paid for efile....The program runs in circles, will not let you complete it. It goes right back to the same page over and over again. Now I have to print and mail it and some how try to get my money back. Thing is.. they charge you before you ever get to the efile page. Then when you do.. the program will not allow it to go through. IT is a 'work sheet' that information was partially transferred from Federal. The information on the transfer is so lacking that the forms can't be filled out because there is no reference pointing to the information needed, just a name and ss number asking for payers id.
What's great about it: Federal
What's not so great: State, MS

Easy peasy

For simplicity and a feeling of control over your taxes, you can't beat Turbo Tax. The step-by-step instructions may be time consuming, but even with investment income, a home business, unreimbursed work expenses and rental income, the process doesn't feel remotely overwhelming. The audit risk assessment and audit defense product provide some valuable peace of mind.
If I have one quibble, it's the kind of errors that pop up for me yearly in the review are generally the same and involve entering mileage readings I wasn't prompted for as Turbo Tax walked me through. That's just a quibble though.
What's great about it: Clear, step-by-step instructions get more streamlined each year
What's not so great: Routinely struggles with mileage deduction on my work vehicle, which pops up on the error check year after year

They have the most helpful customer service I have ever seen. They are knowledgeable and patient. I used to pay CPA to do my taxes and he never asked me as many questions trying to find me a way to save me money and taking advantage of all deductions. Myself and my sons loved using TurboTax.

Need more easy to understand step by step for common person who does not know taxes. Common man does not have any clue for tax laws. Make it simple to understand for each possible scenario to understand and feel safe. It may need more steps but better than getting stuck. Find out what people wants from FAQ.and improve in next year form.

Easy to use

Only concern was the printing of the estimated tax forms. I used the 2-sided option to print and, when it came time to print the estimated tax forms they printed back to back meaning I will have make a copy of two of them before sending in. Small problem but something to look at.
