I use this program every year. I really like the step-by-step of doing the taxes. It jogs my memory of things I might have forgotten to include in my records.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2013 Tax Filing

Last year, I was shown all the transactions from my investments and could easily see what was being used to produce my return. This year, that did not seem to be the case. I liked seeing what had been transferred.
What's great about it: Easystep and E-Filing
What's not so great: Did not seem to give me as much information about investment capital gains/losses as last year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

K1's issued to a Sole proprietor LLC show as an entry in the business income question but never actually asks for K1 entry in business segment only when you get to individual. This results in that income not being part of business Income?? Otherwise everything is wonderfully straight forward including handling of several retirement and other K1 documents
What's great about it: this years program was simple and easy to use both Home and Office and Business Versions
What's not so great: K1 received for LLC still confusing

Order from Chaos - almost.

There should be some communication between a "business" return program (in this case a LLC turning out k-1's), and a personal-and-business return program, in this case, a personal return that includes a business NOT turning out k-1's). It's sometimes very difficult to coordinate revisions accurately between the two programs. A diagram of dependencies would be helpful, to be able to see in one picture what all of the categories are, and what each contains, including what feeds what. I recognize that this would be very difficult, and maybe too complex to be useful.
What's great about it: Eventually you get to all of the questions, and get a chance to answer them.
What's not so great: The order of questions, and dependencies (what depends on what) is rather opaque, and often requires do-overs.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Toms Review 2013

I have a "Tax Letter" that tells me to enter this and that into a form. They don't send a schedule K.
It is hard to find the form and had to find where to put it. Could you have a search function where you put the form name in and either it or it's worksheet pops up?
When you return from forms, it would be nice to be back where you were prior to leaving the interview.
I have been using TurboTax since the DOS days, can you believe it.
I think the the US should stop taxing income and start taxing money movement. If it is good enough for the credit card companies, it is good for the USA. It would put you out of business.
What's great about it: The interview gets better every year
What's not so great: Hard to switch to forms

Transferring data to the Kansas return and 1099 Misc
could be much simpler. Other than this, it was excellent.
