TURBO TAX HAS A WELL ORGANIZED WEB SITE LAYOUT THAT'S VERY EASY TO NAVIGATE AROUND. GREAT JOB TURBO TAX!

2013 Home and Business for Mac = weak

This review is for the Mac version (not sure if Windows version has these issues):
1) Auto update of the software was not working properly. Every time you did a manual check it would say there were updates and if you accepted them something downloaded and was installed but you could do that over and over and it would just keep doing it. My inference is that it did not properly detect that it was up to date.
2) There was a bug with transfer of carryover of K1 suspended data from the prior year for federal purposes. Eventually a fix was provided but not until early April.
3) There was a 2nd bug with transfer of carryover of K1 suspended data from the prior year for California state purposes. I logged this early on. The only response suggested a complete reinstall (which did not help). I finally gave up and had to resort to manually overriding the forms to enter the data manually.

The whole point of using Turbo Tax is to not have to figure out how to fill out the forms on your own but to have help in doing that. I therefore give his year's software a very low rating. I have used TurboTax for many years but this year I lots many many hours due to bugs in the software. A big disappointment.

I LOVE How Simple Taxes are Now!!

I LOVE Turbo Tax!! I have done taxes for my family and for my friends for years!!!! I always have a relatively easy time and the program never lets me send off incomplete forms. I am so grateful for your expertise that I can rely on each year as my life circumstances and family needs change. I know that I can always count on Turbo Tax to help my family earn what we deserve as diligent taxpayers in a refund that I can prepare from home!! Thanx Again!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Ever since I formed my business, I have used Turbo Tax. It is reliable, quick, thorough and easy to use and if you do have any questions at all, the staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.

Could be better

My residence is Colorado. Nearly all of my income was when I was working outside the US for a company based in Florida. Previously in the same situation I paid much less Colorado State tax so I was very surprised by the large amount with turbo-tax. The non-resident / part-time resident and foreign income explanations were inadequate and confusing. When I get a chance later I will probably go somewhere else to get this fixed.
