2013 Tax Returns

Fix the problem with transmission. If I hadn't read on the community blog to take out the CD from my Mac, restart, do the updates & then transmit, I would have still been there.
What's great about it: The body of the program was excellent as it has always been. I have used Turbo Tax for at least the last 10 years.
What's not so great: E-filing was not good this year. Saved only by comments on the community blog.

What's great about it: What question asking process
What's not so great: Need more detail in help area

It is ok, but I needed answers to several situations but there is no person to write or speak that would explain an answer.
What's great about it: Good guidance
What's not so great: If I have a question there is nobody to talk to...

Helpful, trusted product; We've used for years!

We are somewhat old fashioned and used to doing our taxes (the long forms) with pencil and paper, gaining a full understanding of what information was needed in various sections and on various lines and how the information provided was being computed to result in our final taxes owed (resulting in either additional payment needed or a refund being returned). We started using TurboTax approximately five years ago; and, in time, have grown to trust the product. At times, it is still a bit uncomfortable merely answering the questions, trusting that behind the scenes the program is inserting the correct information into the correct places and computing correctly. A MAJOR advantage is that once you use TurboTax, personalized information can be transferred into subsequent years from the previous tax year TurboTax files and a comparison of the two years is provided. We also appreciate, and purchase, the TurboTax Audit Defense.
What's great about it: Makes filing a breeze ~
What's not so great: Answering questions doesn't always allow for full understanding of behind the scenes computations.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've been using TurboTax for over 13 years and see the massive amounts of improvements made each year. I've recently started using using Home and Business and love the improvements. Unfortunately I will have to take a break for the next few years because of changes in life experiences that will require a professional there to explain every step. Once I adjust my level of understanding, I will come right back to TurboTax
What's great about it: Expter explaination and demonstration
What's not so great: none

Doesn't sort payees alphabetically for 1099-MISC. Whether by first or last name, Turbo Tax would be a lot easier to use if it could sort payees alphabetically. The reason being that majority of accounting reports would list payees or employees alphabetically by last name. Currently Turbo Tax lists payees in the order they are entered from year to year. So over the years the payees on Turbo Tax will be listed in no particular order. This makes it more time consuming when you enter the amounts paid to recurring payees because you have to search for them on Turbo Tax, especially when you have over 20 payees. If Turbo Tax could sort the payees alphabetically each year when it transfers the prior year's data, that would be great!
What's not so great: Doesn't sort payees alphabetically for 1099-MISC.
