2014 Turbo Tax Review

Have been using Turbo Tax for years. Very comfortable using it and trust that it is helping us to file an accurate return.
My husband is retired but now has a small business. Home and Business has been great. We were ready to use a CPA a few years ago but the Home and Business edition has been so easy to use. You know what deductions you can take and cannot take. Love the alerts and review for errors!

What's great about it: Guides you through everything. Lots of support
What's not so great: Cost Basis process for sale of mutual funds was a bit tricky. Hard to understand but finally figured it out.

Easiest Way to Do Your Taxes - Period!

It might seem a bit expensive when you buy it, but it is worth every penny and then some. Easy to use. A great product!
What's great about it: Walks you through EVERYTHING! I also love that it remembers last year's return, minimizing repetative data entry.
What's not so great: None!

The only way to fly!

I've been a user of this system since it started and it just gets better and easier each year...or I'm getting smarter?
What's great about it: TurboTax keeps you "in the loop" constantly. The ability to look back to make sure you are on track is perfect.
What's not so great: A couple of minor worksheets issues kept showing as errors no matter how I repaired them.

Tough year for taxes

This was one of the most complicated years for taxes for me - first an employee, then a new business on my own, then forming an S corp with a partner - along with all the other little complications. I was able to make sense of it all and calculate things pretty clearly.
I found the printing process at the end a little heavy on paper use, but overall the program was great.

Outstanding product. Does with ease what the Government is consistently unable to do.
What's great about it: Very well done and pretty easy to use, although the IRS seems to have made up more questions with nore difficult answers
What's not so great: Hard to navigate to some spots for review/revision such as extra sales tax for big ticket items.

Outstanding Tax Software

I'm impressed with the high quality of Turbo Tax. I've noticed improvements being made every year to make it easier to use and make potentially complex rules easy to understand and follow for individual situations. I like the Audit Defense Program--it's a great insurance policy in the event the return is audited.
What's great about it: Ease of use, systematic step-by-step methodology, running tally of refund/payment status, Audit Defense program
What's not so great: Filing procedure for Form 1099-B was a bit confusing

2013 Turbo Tax

Finally for 2013 TurboTax got the Capital Loss Carryover process right! This had been a problem starting from 2009, but now seems to be corrected and so this always-easy-to-use software is once again able to fulfill all my needs without causing any necessary re-work/re-filing later on. Also like that TurboTax, alone among the major tax filing software solutions, offers Non-Resident forms for Louisiana -- absolutely required for the other tax filer in my household.
What's great about it: Excellent self-guided, straightforward yet catches all angles, doesn't crash software

Fabulously easy

Really like the review section which allows me to be sure that everything is being checked. It was easy, almost fun! Can't believe I said that about taxes. thank you!!
