Takes the drudgery out of filing taxes.

I have used TurboTax Home and Business for a number of years now, and, as a small business owner, I like the depth that the program goes into to ensure that all my business activities are accounted for when developing my Schedule "C" as part of my Federal filing. Since I use QuickBooks as my business software, I appreciate the effortless integration between QuickBooks and TurboTax - it eliminates a significant amount of redundant data entry requirements to build the forms. That one item alone makes TurboTax my singular choice for tax time preparation.
IRA basis for non-deductible IRAs is always incorrect; doesn't pull forward correctly and hasn't for a number of years / TT versions. Some functions seem a little buggy (like clicking on "update" and nothing happens), the behind the scenes machinations not very well-explained most of the time, and tax exempt dividends lumped into interest instead of DIV. Seems to be getting a little worse each year i.e. more issues.
Highly recommended for anyone that buys and sells stocks, has a family and mortgage (interest deductions). Once you start your own business, it helps, and is doable, but you might want some additional outside help.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
I've tried other software, and was always left with that niggling little voice, wondering what had been missed. Never had that feeling with Turbo Tax, and it seems to get better each year.
I particularly like the import feature for my Quickbooks accounts and my W-2s
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I've used Turbotax for 10 consecutive years and always found it easy and efficient. This year it was the WORST experience I have EVER had in preparing my taxes. Turbotax crashed several times, it had confusing instructions that did not match the screens that I saw, It told me to go to file and save as and there was no save as option. It filed my return and I had to pay over $700 and then when I reviewed again it then said I owed $90 not the over $700 that it initially said.
