Rocked My Refund!
on March 31, 2014
Posted by: elam1998
Used Turbo Tax for three years now, and I would continue to use it because I get the transfer of previous data, which was very useful and helpful. If I could go to correct a specific entry faster, that would be great!
What's great about it: Used Turbo Tax in previous years, so the transfers were very useful and helpful.
What's not so great: Needed more explanations on some of the entries. Also, if I liked to be able to correct a specific entry faster.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

We appreciate the thoroughness of this tool. It is easy to use and explains complicated connections by being able to go back and forth between forms and step by step. You provide an education as well as a service. Thanks

Once again

It's been over 20 years since I started TurboTax. The program has been consistent for the most part and that makes it easier to use. E-filing makes the paper just a backup in case the electronic "big one" strikes.
What's great about it: Thorough pass through every necessary step without having to remember from last year
What's not so great: Some previous year items not shown - Banking info not carried from fed to state

Flat out dependable

I've used this since 1988, have never had problems of any kind. Also use the Corporate version, wish they had that for the Mac with a more robust Quick Books for Mac. Still easy to do by printing a profits and loss report and balance sheet.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: Miss the help center choices without leaving the program
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Schedule C needs improvement
on March 31, 2014
Posted by: MissZippy
I have used Turbotax for many years, but this is my last year after having to prepare schedule C........Not clear enough at all.
What's great about it: Personal tax part is great
What's not so great: I found the Schedule C not very clear.....I think it needs more explanation and more steps to clarify.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

There has never been any better

I have been using Turbo Tax ever since the development of the IBM PC. Back in the day, you needed a dot matrix printer and needed to enter the data on an official IRS form, sign and mail. Turbo-tax always stayed ahead of the curve. Every year it is a little bit better and with a laser printer, you can do it like the pros. I think that professional LeCerte software copies Turbo Tax and that is the highest compliment. The integration with Quick Books, same owner, is a real time (life) saver. IT IS THE BEST. No comparison. who needs a CPA? puuffffhh.
What's great about it: Easy, great results, nice interface, leading edge tech
What's not so great: its not free

Frustrating e-file transmission!
on April 1, 2014
Posted by: Estr
It took me a while and several tries to transmit e-file Tax Return, even after checking for updates and repeatedly updating. Also saving the Tax Return to my Tax Folder is not explained well.
What's great about it: Easy to enter information
What's not so great: Not that easy to save to my tax folder and to transmit
