Hard to switch from a tax professional program

I have been using ProSystem FX since it was Computax. I could make that program dance, but I retired. There was nothing on an individual return that I could not do on Turbo Tax. (I did not test everything - only what I needed). I found that the interface was awkward at times. Some short cuts I'm used to aren't there. For example, if you need to annualize an underpayment penalty you need to enter all of the data not just the exceptional item/s. But on the whole I am satisfied with the (3) returns I now prepare. I switched last year and it was difficult to make the adjustment. I waited to review until this year when the learning curve worked in Turbo Tax and my favor. I'll get it again next year - I'm satisfied. Good value for the money TurboTax Home and Business
What's great about it: seems pretty complete - there was nothing I needed to do that I couldn't do.
What's not so great: ...but it sure takes a long time to navigate - even using forms view.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: explains at kid-level.
What's not so great: the updates scare me.

It was confusing with IRA recharactsrizations to Roth due to separation of entries during the interview process. put these sections together.
Sometimes hard to navigate back and forth on various topics without redoing prior entries.
Each year you do seem to get a bit better. that is appreciated.
What's great about it: thorough interview with help for new home business
What's not so great: You accepted my money to file the state return and then did not transmit, I therefore have to mail and you have my $.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Tried to use for a Statutory Employee where the company withholds all taxes including self employment tax. Turbo tax system kept trying to show self employment tax due. Could not figure out how to show that these taxes had already been paid. Purchase this product for the business filing only. Only used it for filing a 1040 with a schedule A for my son.
What's great about it: Easy for a simple return that includes Schedule A
What's not so great: Could not use for a Statutory Employee

great product doesn't work as well with quicken

I use the home and business version because of my home business. Previously if I put everything in Quicken it would easily import into Turbo Tax. This year with it didn't import very easily and I had to re-do a lot of things to get it even close.
What's great about it: very easy to answer questions and get answers
What's not so great: doesn't work as well with quicken as it did previously

Easy once I have all my ducks lined up.

I recommend TurboTax to anyone who can organize their data and work on a computer. It's so easy once I have all my information gathered. I printed out notes and screen shots from last year's return, to remind myself of what information I would need to gather, and that was very helpful.
Filing two state returns along with the fed was a cinch as well.
I'm done, before the deadline!
What's great about it: The step-by-step instructions and questions lead through the process very nicely. I can stop at any point and return.
What's not so great: Can't think of any negatives.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments
