Add the option to be able to transfer past year information from a PDF format.
Also remove all those personal questions from this review.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Not been able to transfer from a PDF format.

Adequate

When I loaded by NM return, TurboTax then crashed and could not be recovered. Fortunately I also have a PC that I managed to salvage my work. Tried to call and was on hold for over an hour before giving up. Tried numerous reloads. Definitely a TT issue.
What's not so great: Crashed on Mac

Time saving, mind blowing software!

In the comfort of your home, you do your taxes. You can pause, take a break, look for that paper, check again and calmly do your taxes. It's almost like playing a game. And I won!
Pros: I bought or sold investments

You're Almost There

You need to include partnerships in your Home and Business edition. It would be easy to add a 1065 return form to the list provided. Also, why don't you provide the PR-1 form for the State of Montana?
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: Home and Business is misleading

Have done turbo tax for about the last 10+ years, I had more difficulty this time as the program seemed to cough at times and it kept taking me back 1 or 2 steps and I repeated things many times. I could not figure out why.
What's not so great: Somtimes terms are not familiar to me. A glossary might be helpful.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Not as good as previous years
on April 1, 2014

It seems like the quality is slipping - previous years were glitch free.
--Install did not work; had to download large patch (complete reinstall).
--Installed services that slowed down my older computer or locked it up until I cancelled them in Control Panel -> Services. Spyware?
--Constant certificate warning errors from Google during filing - what gives?
--Error in HVAC credit filing interview.
What's great about it: eFiling
What's not so great: Many errors and glitches this year

Federal is great

I've used TurboTax for many years and it keeps getting better. The federal tax portion is easy and the explanations helpful. The part I don't understand is depreciation, esp. why it depreciates the cars we use in business. On the other hand, the California state return is confusing with all the differences from federal deductions--especially when it comes to depreciation. Those don't seem to be automated and require outside knowledge. It says federal deductions California didn't allow in previous years I can take now, but I have no idea how to do it and wish TurboTax imported that data and did it automatically.
What's great about it: Federal is easy to use
What's not so great: CA state filing is confusing

Long-time user is very happy!

After years of paying a tax-preparer, TurboTax saved me money and made fewer (hopefully no) mistakes. The way TurboTax imports last year's return makes preparation easy each year. TurboTax also prompts for everything and yet allows for skipping on subjects not applicable.
I like being able to flag things as I go along and collect that information later. Sometimes I have trouble going back to things, but I think it works out eventually.
Thank you for such a great product all these years.
What's great about it: More accurate, thorough, and less expensive than tax preparers.
What's not so great: Sometimes a little clunky to get back to something, but it always seems to work out.
