Greatly appreciate Turbo Tax and the ease in which I can get my taxes done!
What's great about it: They go through all the steps and make it understandable for me to know what I am doing.
What's not so great: Can't really think of any except it is a bummer that my state has an e-file charge!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbotax Crash
on April 2, 2014

Turbotax crashed just as I was going to e-file a return.
Then, when I got ready to e-mail it, it kept circling me back to the beginning of the e-file process. Is this a gimmick to keep soliciting an audit insurance fee?
What's not so great: Crash

Turbo Tax is easy to use and does an excellent job of working out the taxes. The only problem was the transfer of retired pay from the federal to the state return was not as easy as suggested by the instructions so the amount had to be enetered separately. Thisproblem has occured every other year.
What's great about it: Excellent in working with federal returns
What's not so great: Transfer of data from federal return needs to be carefully watched

As long as your records are well recorded for entry, TurboTax is very fast and simple. I especially appreiate the "error check" and audit probability.
What's great about it: simple to understand once you were in the right place
What's not so great: too many questions in areas of no interest

Turbo Tax 2013 Worked for Us!

The 2013 TurboTax software works extremely well. If consumers follow the prompts in order and have all of their information organized before starting, then this will be a happy experience. There are still improvements that can be made - such as emphasizing the information the consumer should have - organized - before they start punching in information. I think letting the consumer know that "don't enter now, it will be dealt with later" is very good approach. While govt changes to forms cannot be known in advance, the TurboTax software should have a rigorous testing cycle before release to avoid part to the software not capturing data correctly from auto-download from sites (ie 1099B, Schedule D and 8949, Capital Gains Worksheets). Overall, great experience.
What's great about it: Full coverage of topics with quick references for explanations or additional information - made easy!
What's not so great: Fixes to software impacted/delayed filing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
