I did not need a state tax extension but the program would not let me file until I put my start and end military dates. I was not in a combat zone so I have no idea why the program insisted that I type something in for this.
What's great about it: easier to use than paper by far
What's not so great: tax extension for military
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

confusing

It took me the better part of a day to get the program to send the returns electronicly. Getting the update installed was not easy to follow.
What's great about it: tax forms are self expanitory
What's not so great: the filing portion of the program needs work.

Not user friendly

The help was no help at all.
The program would not let me go back to the page I needed.
The program asked me several times the same question.
You need to improve your program and make it more user friendly. I am not a high tech person, I have a business to run and in my spare time I don't play computer games, I still have a flip phone.
Write your program so I can understand it.

What's not so great: Confusing, hard to know how to fill the blanks.

Simplified my state return

This was the first year I started a sole-proprietorship and TurboTax made it a lot easier for me. I love the step by step process so no deduction goes unclaimed (hopefully). It makes it so I can my taxes by myself.
What's great about it: Simplified my business and state returns
What's not so great: e-file fees
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Couldn't do it without Turbo Tax

Finished multiple tax returns for family. It was brutal, even using Turbo Tax. Without Turbo Tax, I could not have done it. The tax laws are way too complicated and intricate. Help, Forums, explanations helped get me through it all. The K-1 has a bug. I got a revised K-1. I couldn't change the one I had entered previously. I had to delete and add a new one. Aggravating. It was the only error (no entry in a field because box was checked and I couldn't uncheck it) on my tax return when Turbo Tax did the Federal review.
What's great about it: Tax laws too complicated
What's not so great: K-1 not well behaved

Small Home Business Return - easily done

I like how last year's return carries forward. I always have to do my RITA taxes separately since Turbo Tax never calculates them properly. I use the RITA website instead. I wouldn't mind if Turbo Tax didn't claim to do it, but it just takes me through all the steps, then cranks out an inaccurate return.
Federal and State work great.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: New Ohio small business deduction not included in state - had to manually calculate, Does not do RITA correctly.

Life made easier with Turbo Tax!

Again, my only con is when going back to double check some time need to reenter info, it could be me doing something incorrectly.
What's great about it: Very easy to use, covers all bases, let's you know when an error occured
What's not so great: Sometime going back need to reenter info

I am too busy to waste time and money on things i can do for myself like taxes.Turbo tax is a simple step by step, quick alternative to having someone else do you're taxes.I am not computer literate in any way and this program was simple even for me. 5 plus stars
