I've only ever claimed mileage as a business deduction. I don't understand why I need to come up with cost numbers for the original value of the car being traded. Vehicle trade-ins are very commonplace. There's no good reason why this should be so confusing.
What's great about it: The process was pretty easy
What's not so great: The vehicle use portion of the Business part was confusing.
2013 was awkward to navigate. If you stopped and wanted to finish later, it would start you from the beginning. It had me place income in different areas. Not happy with this years program. I will probably have a professional look at this year's taxes and file an amendment if needed. I will look at other tax programs next year.
What's great about it: Transfers Info from previous years, but so did all the other years
What's not so great: Didn't save your spot when you save and exit. Had to start all over
The program happily took my payment for e-filing the state return; however, the program is stuck in a do-loop, not allowing the state return filing. No help from the help desk, either. I've used TurboTax for 18 years and this is the first time it has failed. Must be time to move on to the competition.
What's great about it: Great for the federal filing
What's not so great: Unable to e-file the state return due to a program error.
We've been waiting for several years for you to make the Turbo Tax for multiple partners of LLC. You have it for PC but not Mac. Why not? I have to do that portion using IRS fillable forms.
What's great about it: Many of us have Mac/Apple computers
Very accurate. Worked as expected. Found a deduction that I would not have found on my own. I work my taxes by hand first and the results were as expected except for taxes due. They were $30 less then expected because of a deduction I did not know I could take. Interview questions seem very complete. Does take some time to go through them however and you have to have gathered all your papers and have numbers ready to input. Overall I would recommend to everyone and my taxes are complicated as I am retired.
What's great about it: Saved $30 that I would not of found on my own
What's not so great: Does take some time to load and needs a new computer to run
