A very major tax break for me is writing off my home office rent. This is not covered properly when the program walks you through everything. It only asks for your address in the beginning and then it skips the part where you write in how much you pay and how much square footage is used for the office. And it never takes you back to the important part where you put that important info in, you have to find it yourself later and the section where you do this is is hard to find and it not intuitive for those who are not aware. This is a major deduction for me so not sure why it's so hidden away in the program. I was going crazy trying to figure out how to write this off. Other than that major flaw the rest of the program worked fairly well.
What's great about it: walks you through almost everything easily
What's not so great: one very important section (how much my home office rent costs) is not included in the walk through

Not as good as it used to be

I have used this product for many years. I was very disappointed this year. To start with I had some small issues to deal with and the program did not compute the recapture, instead it told me how to do it manually, if I wanted to do this I would not have purchases software!
The second issue I have is they removed the comparison to other in your tax bracket, I have no idea why they would do this.
If the comparison is not brought back I will not be using this product next year.

What's great about it: The deduction finder is helpful
What's not so great: No help with sec 179 recapture, they removed the comparison to others in your bracket

Adequate for straightforward returns. Unless you're very careful in proofing the results, I suspect you'll end up in an audit situation when dealing with such things as small business tax credits, all due to Turbo Taxes incomplete forms. Has happened to me the last 3 years.Although I now know what gremlins to look for, you'd expect a software firm the size of Turbo Tax to get these ongoing issues fixed. No reason why I should have to go the the IRS website to pull down extra forms to complete my return.
What's not so great: Several forms incomplete resulting in the software claiming errors.

TurboTax for 25 years

I have enjoyed using TurboTax for the last 25 years (maybe longer). I feel confident that my taxes are accurate and complete when I finish & file my taxes. It's easy to use and I would recommend TurboTax to individuals or businesses alike.
What's great about it: Guided walk-through & ability to enter data on my own.
What's not so great: I don't use the automatic downloads from institutions

Disappointed in Turbo Tax

Next year I will probably look at another Tax Return software package. I have used this for 10 years and I am very disappointed in the amount I have to spend to use the Turbo Tax software
What's great about it: I like to do my own taxes and this gives me the ability to do so
What's not so great: Turbo Tax Home & Business is misleading in E-Filing State Returns for free

First Home and Business Return

It took me several weeks to gather the information and just three hours to enter all of the information for filing. The linking from form to form was a real time saver for me. I have been a personal taxes Intuit filer for years and adding my new LLC to my filing was a breeze. I would highly recommend the Home and Officer version.
What's great about it: Very comprehensive in linking business LLC with personal filing
What's not so great: None
