I thought the federal portion of my return was easy for most people to understand and to answer the questions made sense for that part of the return. I am a little disappointed with the directions for my state return. I thought there could have been more explanation for some of the areas of the state return.
It may or may not be user error on my part, but the local tax returns ("RITA" and sometimes "CCA") do not seem to calculate correctly. I end up doing them off line, and have to fix TurboTax entries the following year due to erroneous carryover amounts.
I've used Turbotax for 20 yrs and find it intuitive to use and it covers my particular tax needs. The last two years there has been a software problem during the state revuew process regarding W-2 for management of sick pay but call to the help center solved the problem with friendly and knowledgeable support. I'll keep using this excellent product in the future.
We have used TurboTax every year since it was released. We must have saved thousands of dollars in professional tax preparation fees and feel confident we have always received the maximum refund. Based on some current TV ads we feel confident we have received our share of the billion dollars waiting to be claimed each year. Our return includes a Schedule C and all information is quickly and easily imported from Quicken. However, data entry into Quicken must be completed as it happens throughout the year while it is fresh in your mind.
