Turbo Tax Revision

Tech Support was awesome! With this year's Home & Business Turbo Tax, it would NOT import previous taxes from PDF files. So it all had to be done manually, which was very confusing to me. Had to make several calls into the support line. Always talked with very nice, polite, professional people!!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

UPDATE DURING FILING A ROYAL PAIN

FILING STOPPED AFTER PAYING BECAUSE OF AN UPDATE. HAD TO UPDATE SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL I FIGURED OUT TURBO TAX HAD TO BE SHUT DOWN AND THEN RESTARTED IN ORDER TO GET THE FILING PROCESSED. PUT THIS UPDATE BEFORE PAYING FOR THE E-FILING.

A great program

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years for myself and my family and I find it easy to use and very automated, at least for those items which are available online. It's very thorough and I have never been audited nor has any member of my family. State taxes are a breeze due to so many similarities with the Federal forms and Turbo Tax imports almost everything. This program saves me a lot of time.

2013 tax software not as good as 2012

This is a good tax software, especially if you run a small business. In past years, the software has been very user friendly, and the format was good. This year (2013 tax year), the software was a little glitchy, and information tranferred from federal form to state form was not consistent. I found myself going back to my federal form trying to figure out how the amounts on the state form were generated. The user definitely needs some grasp of tax preparation to avoid getting completely confused in some of the tax sections.

I'm Dependent on TurboTax

I'm a retired CPA, but I was not a tax expert. I rely on TurboTax to help me prepare my own tax return, my 95-year-old father's tax return, and a daughter's tax return. I am a heavy computer-user, and I find TurboTax very easy to use. Highly recommended!
