Mostly good

Make sure to save your return in several places because Turbotax seems to have lost ours. I cannot find access to either 2011 or 2012 even though I know that I saved them and that they were done with Turbotax. I have the receipt for the purchase, but that does me no good, nor does my log in.

It WORKS!

I have been a TurboTax user for many years. Although I still dread doing our taxes, Turbo Tax makes it much less painful and far more comprehensive. They have helped me find deductions that I would have forgotten for my freelance graphic design business.
I wish the interface with filing two states returns was easier. MN is finally easier to do. MT is still a nightmare as I do not get a question for "MT tax withheld" and must remember to manually enter it every year.
If I had to go back to doing this all by hand, I would not be happy in the doing!

Wisconsin. You are allowed to enter an incorrect number in the question "Did you have any capital gains from sales of farm assets." The program does not give you an error message unless you go forward one question and then come back. However it did catch the error in the State error checker. Once I corrected the error, the form showing my State and Federal return did not update, therefore the numbers shown for the tax refund was one number in the box at the top of the program and a different number on the summary page.

Easier than I though

I was so worried...with a home based business but Turbo tax walked me right through it. Asking questions our tax consultant in the past never asked. It was a little time consuming this time but now I know what I'll need next time. We did much better with our refund than last year. Will use this again next year.

I have been using Turbo Tax from the ninety's. I've watched it progress into the dynamic program that it is today. I wouldn't do my taxes any other way.

We switched to TurboTax five years ago. Now, instead of lugging records and receipts to the accountant and nervously waiting the outcome, I have taken control. I know TurboTax will give me the latest information and guide me each step of the way. That's a huge relief - and a learning experience too.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
