I'm happy enough to stay with TurboTax, signed up for Advantage Member. I made one phone call to see if you could actually talk to a live person about a TurboTax question. I got answer, I didn't need any tax questions answered. Person was nice and polite and didn't have the answer immediately but got back with answer shortly.
What's great about it: I like the info help clicks to keep you informed and on track
What's not so great: Need to read what's available to know product, this takes time.
I paid for turbo tax and filed an extension until Oct 15. I got sick and could not get filed earlier and stayed up until midnight the 15th and system just shut me out. Then when tried to file in a few days I could not find my return I was in the middle of filing. So my only choice was to pay again which was higher by this time. That really stiinks. I should get reimbursed wouldn't you think?? I haved used for years.
I had a difficult time downloading from Quicken especially for tax transactions on securities. I also had a difficult time understanding and completing the option to provide a mailed in version of the security transactions after I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to download each transaction from my broker. Make it clearer that this is an option (to not download) that is much easier to finishing the return.
What's great about it: Well organized, fairly easy to follow
What's not so great: hard to download from quicken
