I go to forms to locate where I have an error but it's usually a box where there is no explanation of what info is needed. The help function just restates what the form says. It needs a number but provides no information of what number is needed or where it comes from. I just skip the error and file w/o entering anything.
I don't have enough deductions to itemize my return, I know this going in and yet the program makes me go through countless pages. Just provide a button for take standard deduction and let me be done with it.
What's great about it: Worked well
What's not so great: Error correction explanations, ca't default to stanard deduction
Pros: I bought or sold investments

This is the 6th year that I have used Turbo Tax and it gets better every year. As with all Tax software it all depends on having all your information ready and correct. Remember garbage in means garbage out. I always let it sit a day or two after I finish then I do a final review prior to filing.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: none

Turbo tax user for several years. Have a small schedule C business as well as income from regular employment,. Turbo Tax still gets my vote for easy to use tax prep. Included a move to new state this year, schedule C's, 1040's and a state.
What's great about it: easy, walk through the entire ordeal
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

I have spent several days trying to get my taxes filed, only to encounter one roadblock after another. Currently I can't file because I can't get a federal pin no. I have typed everything in they asked for several times and called the federal help line, I took the information from the 2012 tax filing.
I will be looking for an alternative to Turbo tax next year.
What's not so great: Did not respond to my e-mail(s).

I have used Turbo Tax Home and Business w/It's Deductible for several years. No complaints so far.
We get regular updates and if you are signed up for the next year program you can get a head start./
I also like the idea of transferring data from year to year..
It's a great program so keep up the good work.
Also, you can pay for Audit Defense. Never file without it..Never know if you will need it...
What's great about it: TELLS IT LIKE IT IS - THEY WALK YOU THROUGH IT
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Complicated Taxes Uncomplicated

The key to faster filing is to keep good records and have them well-organized order when filing.
What's great about it: Step-by-step instructions, follow-up and verification questions all make a complixated return much easier to negotiate.
What's not so great: It still takes about eight hours to file a return.

Overall a good refund process as usual.
What's great about it: Everything ran smoothly
What's not so great: Sales tax glitch for non state income tax states posed a slight problem
