It WORKS!

I have been a TurboTax user for many years. Although I still dread doing our taxes, Turbo Tax makes it much less painful and far more comprehensive. They have helped me find deductions that I would have forgotten for my freelance graphic design business.
I wish the interface with filing two states returns was easier. MN is finally easier to do. MT is still a nightmare as I do not get a question for "MT tax withheld" and must remember to manually enter it every year.
If I had to go back to doing this all by hand, I would not be happy in the doing!
What's great about it: Sure makes doing our tax returns MUCH easier!
What's not so great: Still having trouble with the Montana return for OUT-OF-STATE income & taxes paid. Must override to enter amt pd.

Mostly good

Make sure to save your return in several places because Turbotax seems to have lost ours. I cannot find access to either 2011 or 2012 even though I know that I saved them and that they were done with Turbotax. I have the receipt for the purchase, but that does me no good, nor does my log in.
What's great about it: Most of the process is easy and self-explanatory, but there were areas that were not.
What's not so great: I filed with Turbotax last year, and when I log in my return is not there. I also did my daughter's and it is missing.

If you want to do your own taxes, then TurboTax is the way to go. who else provides independent software that allows you to do taxes personally and confidentially.
What's great about it: Streamlined for the modern world, with indexes, automated or manual options, and plenty of guidlines
What's not so great: the price is high, but the service is excellent
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Makedata input easier

Make it easier to put in charitable information by permitting it to go in as a single listing rather than one by one with many clicks required for each item.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and comprehensive
What's not so great: Took longer to import things like chariable donations
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I thought since I was in a Domestic Partnership that this was going to be very complicated. The tool walked me through all the steps and it was much easier than I had anticipated.

I want to prepare voucher for State estimated taxes for 2014
Spent an hour going over and the return and so far no luck.
This type of programming is difficult to follow and it leaves a lot to be desired.

I found data entry screens did not follow my logic for preparing the tax return. Some multiple entries under a topic required repetitive keystrokes, instead of just letting filer enter the data. ie. One account with several similar entries.
What's great about it: 1.Ease of entering data. 2.Works well with downloading data from financial service. 3.Screen layout good.
What's not so great: 1.Did not keep information from last years tax return. 2.Does not do comparisons of previous years tax returns.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Flow is seamless and transparent with support information perfectly matched. TurboTax is a masterful app.
What's great about it: Reminders and repeat warnings are perfect
What's not so great: Changed response sometimes don't disappear first sweep
