Good But Not Great...

This software has allowed my family to file a complicated tax document with relative ease. With multiple rental units, self-employment, and other tax variables, our return is tricky. I feel confident that we file an accurate form.
On the negative side, I cannot comprehend why some boxes have to be rechecked if you jump around in the forms. This can be very annoying. Also, the updates never seem to end each year, even well pasted the filing deadline. That is very disturbing. Why (for example) would the 2012 software be updated well into the summer of 2013?

I have been sing Turbo Tax SW for years to do our taxes and I love it. Very easy to follow.

Challenge with Foreign Taxes

While I've been using turbo tax for more than a decade and cannot imagine trying to navigate taxes without it, I am continually frustrated with the difficulty Turbo Tax has in filling out forms for US citizens living and working abroad.
The 1116 form, which is admittedly complicated, is somehow made impossible by Turbo Tax. Questions do not correspond with the form and results are often not saved or calculated incorrectly.
Paying so much extra (more than half the cost of the product) for an extra state is a cruel little twist at the end of the process.

First Time Home & Business

Have been a Turbo Tax fan from the very beginning of Turbo Tax. I love the ease of using it. I really appreciate the Audit Indicator feature, too. I liked how it walked me through the items that might flag our return & told me specifically what items I needed to support my entries. I also liked the opportunity to purchase the Audit Protector (which I did) because this is my first year of using the Home & Business Program because I started a home business in 2013, usually we just use the Deluxe Program. If we get audited, I want to have a Tax Representative on our side. Thanks again for an awesome product. I feel "confident" when I do our taxes.

Yeah, taxes are rocket science, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to use TurboTax. If I can do it, anybody can.

It took me three days and still did not solve the problem. Finally, I made only one call, Erica help me to solve the problem and walked me through my whole tax return less than 10 minutes. She cleared all my issues and I filed my tax.

after clicking I wanted to use the free state filing I was charged to file my state taxes. I may have some confusion about whether just creating the state form was free or whether filing the form was free. Better clarification on this is needed. I could have gone else where to have my taxes done and filed for free. Especially since I paid out the money to get the program to begin with.
