My 2013 Home & Business Turbotax Review

Program was great but had a lot of trouble transferring information from my ItsDeductible account over to my tax return. It kept telling me that I was entering wrong account or password. I had to call your Turbotax help to report it and then wait for it to be fixed. It took longer than what I expected for it to finally start working.
What's great about it: Very comprehensive and easy to use.
What's not so great: Problem in transferring data from ItsDeductible

Easy to use

I've been using Turbo Tax since 2005! Each year they add little features to make doing your taxes easier. What I always love is the $ on top of the screen that has a running total of how much tax you owe or will be refunded. It motivates me to keep all my receipts and think of what deductions I can use for the next year.
Turbo Tax also has a list of questions for you on any deductible or income that might fit you, which is great since I don't really know all of the forms that I receive in the mail. Turbo Tax makes sure that I cover everything.
Finally, my husband has his own business and Turbo Tax saves us so much money on an accountant. The deductions are extremely thorough and comprehensive.
I purchased the Audit Defense last year and it was a life saver. We got audited but thankfully we were covered so didn't have to pay anything additional. In fact, the tax accountant who helped us managed to get us an additional $247! Would recommend Turbo Tax to anyone who can keep their own receipts and deductions organized.
What's great about it: Asks questions and explains what paperwork you need before starting

Good software but with a couple of bugs.

I have used TurboTax for years and overall this software is a lifesaver! One beef... I am a CPA and yet in order to get my New Mexico tax liability correct I have to override several values that the software plugs in for the user.
What's great about it: Walks me through the maze of a comples tax situation.
What's not so great: The New Mexico nonresident return prep is awkward.
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

I have been using TurboTax for 12 years. Awesome product, great tutorials. I have also used the ichat advice. Fantastic service.
The best software program I have ever used. Period!!!
What's great about it: ease of use/accurate returns/grea prices/Audit Protection
What's not so great: none!!!

Most web sites, and the browser, have a Back button independent of the page you are on. TerboTax does NOT have a back button outside of the set-by-step. Example: I want to review a form. I pull it up. Now, how do I exit the View Form, and proceed?
What's great about it: transfer from year to year info
What's not so great: not as easy to navigate

GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Turbo Tax allows me to prepare my Federal Taxes with confidence. I also like that I can automatically e-file, and save my prepared return as a PDF. Turbo Tax took the fear out of preparing my taxes on my own.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, Steps are simple and guide you through from start to finish

Easier-than-Pie - only 5 hours

This went quite well. Getting back to certain forms took some time. Getting back to specific deductions took some time if we forgot the category we put it in.
What's great about it: good descriptions
What's not so great: finding individual items to populate forms

Also, too much scrolling is required; there could be better use of screen real estate.
What's not so great: Sometime difficult to navigate; particularly between step-by-step and forms interfaces.
