I have used for many years and will be back next year. However, sometimes after your initial entry that may be wrong gets changed the change is not recorded. On an individual 401K if the check mark to figure the maximum is chosen the original entry for profit sharing is not changed even though the entry has been changed.
What's great about it: Good layout and follow through as usual
What's not so great: Changes made to individual 401K were not made after initial entry
TurboTax remains the best of the "do it yourself" community with corrections and updates so easy to accomplish. I'm still looking for some further polishing regarding the details in the final reviews.
What's great about it: Typically well organized.
What's not so great: Reviews found "things" that defied correcting with no reason offerred.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I've been using TurboTax for years and it has generally improved every year. This version was perfect for me. You have the ability to go the long way and answer all the Q's, or do the quick choice method and view via tabs where you need to move to quickly. It also does a better job of separating the self employed income versus company income over previous versions of TurboTax. The older versions seemed to take a little more work to organize. Kudos to TurboTax! Steve
What's great about it: very streamline and easily navigated
The program, as always, is easy to use. The guides and information provided helps make this a relatively painless experience. I like the ability to click on definitions to help explain what you're looking at. But when the explanation only repeats the IRS ruling, it is somewhat difficult to understand.
Overall, Turbo Tax helps make filing your taxes a better experience than wading through forms yourself.
What's great about it: Ease of working through the program and explanations provided
What's not so great: Some legal definitions are hard to understand
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I would rate Turbo tax 95 out of 100 I have one problem with the California motion picture credit. If you put a zero in the box that asks how much credit you received, than it disqualifies you from e filing. You have to essentially ignore the question if you received no California motion picture association credit in order to e file.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate, thorough, proceeded in a logical manner
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
