Gold Standard in Taxes

I have done it two different years, repeating the reporting of my Jan. self employment payment. This year I had a difficult time finding the answer to the question, "Why, no matter what amount I put in for the IRA deduction, did it not change my final tax due?" I finally talked to someone at the IRS and found that NO MATTER WHAT I make AGI/Net income, I do have to pay some taxes. Darn it!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is easy to use by anyone. It asks you clear, precise questions and does all the hard work and thinking.
What's not so great: I have a habit of repeating the reporting of my January self-employment payment.
It was user-friendly and easy to navigate and file with Turbotax. The income and deduction scenarios were fitted my situation perfectly. Those who has high and/or various sources of income, investments, all kinds of deduction scenarios and possibly a complicated filing, should see professional assistance to avoid mistakes. Obviously, Turbotax is not a one-size-fits-all, but certainly is a great filing tool used by CPA-s and other tax pros too. I am going to utilize Turbotax in the future for my income tax filing. Thanks again for the seamless, efficient and user friendly software. :-) Please keep up the good work.
What's great about it: Easy navigation between the pages/deductions; detailed to fit, written in plain language, explains the common scenarios
What's not so great: Nothing from me .... worked great as is .... may not be detailed enough for specific situations
I was even more pleased with the manner in which TurboTax guided me through the maze of lines of information and needed data. Taxes continue to get more complicated and TurboTax take away a lot of the apprehension
What's great about it: Even more intuitive than ever
What's not so great: would like a printed comparison with prior years taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
My power went out EXACTLY as I was e-filing my fed taxes. I kept my fingers crossed, and TurboTax delivered by recovering the tax documents (almost) to the point I was at. Very little backtracking was required, and I am very thankful for that.
What's great about it: back-up during power-outage
Have used this product at least 12-15 years. Love it. However this year noticed a few glitches in it that have not seen before. One in particular there was not a prompt ot ask if I wanted to use part of my 2013 refund as credit toward 2014 tax.
What's great about it: easy to work through
What's not so great: Had to go into forms several times to see where I needed to input info
