Easy Peasy

There were several times when I knew the program should do something (Oregon estimated taxes, for one) and had to go back and figure out how to make it do it. It's lots easier than doing it without software, though.
What's great about it: easy

Intuitive software knows if your a farmer or rocket scientist and asks the right questions. Although sometimes it assumes I know more than I do, you may have to drill down to find the clue (is my 401k an investment? Wait, here is my 1099-INT!) or where do I claim my new office chair. Personally, this will be easier next year and the year after, and like most things there is a learning curve. I'm learning that I can do my own small business taxes in an afternoon and take my wife out to dinner with the $450. that I saved doing it myself. No curve there.
What's great about it: Turbo, as always, makes the best of the worst time of year.
What's not so great: Won't make you a sandwich.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Far from perfect, could be much better

I have not used any other tax software so I can't compare. I repeated my 2010 returns after a professional did them for me and found some of their errors, other wise the returns agreed.
Personally I find it a toss up, pay a professional whom isn't familiar with your situations, or do it yourself and be stumped with a lot of the questions that come up.
However I find many places where items could be explained much better. And some places where you have to do some calculations by hand.
What's great about it: Helps, keeps track of many items like carry overs, imports brokerage statements
What's not so great: could explain many items better, some errors

Been using Turbo Tax since you first came out.. Love it , or I still wouldn't bne using it, although the $$$$ have almost doubled. Thanks, it worked great.

The entire process seemed to be free of a lot of glitches I found in the past.
What's great about it: Most of the technical glitches in the past were not present.
What's not so great: Had to make corrections created by TurboTax.

TurboTax is a national treasure but it is a national disgrace that we need it.
What's great about it: Schedules A, C, and especially D
What's not so great: The tax system; Turbotax is fine.
