The state of the art...

A very thorough and thoughtful way of doing your taxes. Every nook and cranny of your taxes are covered with no stone left unturned at finding deductions. I have been with Turbo-Tax for many years and have never been disappointed.
Turbo Tax automatically double checks my return for accuracy. With business and life events of last year I was concerned I was able to do everything right. I did my taxes with Turbo Tax and then I had H & R Block check everything. I mean they boast they can find me money that I might have missed. Well they came up with the EXACT thing I did using Turbo Tax. Thanks Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Saved me Timeand Money
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
Mac OS 10 - Several glitches and minor issues which all ironed I out (I think). Numerous failed access trie to Turbo Tax on Internet - conveniently, when I opted NOT to have Turbo Tax take their fees out of my Tax Return.
This, however, is a very minor irritation for a WONDERFUL PRODUCT that has done my taxes for so long, I can't remember doing them by hand anymore..
What's great about it: Each year you change things up just a bit to keep us on thinking the process through
What's not so great: Glitchier this year... on otherwise stellar equipment.
I have been using TT for more than 15 years. The 2013 TT issue was much more vague than presvious ones. Some of the instructions and explanations were not very precise; had to guess too much. When queried, the answers did not solve the concerns. It was obvious most of the respondent(s) did not actually apply their own "solutions", since their answers only caused more problems. Many of the "answers" should be screened by someone who (1) can understand the questions, and (2) has a working knowledge of the tax system. There is no better self managed income tax return program, and I will reluctantly, buy the 2014 TT.
What's great about it: Able to eventually get the right (and understandable) answers!
What's not so great: Took many tries to get correct solutions.
