when back tracking thru the step by step, sometimes TT doesn't remember my previous entry and requires I do it again. Entries should be "sticky" until I deliberately make a change.
What's great about it: comprehensive and handles all my financial situations

Turbo Tax 2013 Software
on April 7, 2014

The software I purchased identified that I would get one State Return for "free". DID NOT HAPPEN!
I WOULD PREFER TO PURCHASE SOFTWARE THAT IS "ALL INCLUSIVE" IN THE PURCHASE PRICE RELATIVE TO FILING FEES. ETC.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Too many unexpected fees
Pros: I moved

Had some problems with 1009-S form from inheritance. Required multiple searches to find the right answer. Otherwise easy for my business and personal.
What's great about it: Questions in step by step are great
What's not so great: Trouble with some uncommon things; inheritance
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's not so great: If you have been using for awhile, interview is tedious
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Can I use Turbotax Business with my Mac?
on April 7, 2014
Posted by: sanbar75
For 30+ years I have used Turbotax. It has always been the simplest and most accurate choice for Tax Preparation. Next year I may have to switch from Turbotax Home and Business (which I have used every year it was available) to Turbotax Business. I have been told Business does not support Mac system - only PC. This is greatly disappointing. Please keep supporting Macintosh / Apple systems. Thank you
What's great about it: I have only used Mac computers
What's not so great: Is Turbotax turning its back on Mac for Turbotax Business
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

It beats doing it by hand.
What's great about it: Transfers from previous year
What's not so great: Once you leave a section it is difficult to get back to the exact page you were on.

I have been using Turbo Tax since 1989 with no audit issues. My wife wanted to use an CPA for two years and we were audited each year. Back to Turbo Tax! This year was the best for ease of use. Thanks for making my life easy.
What's great about it: Easy if use
What's not so great: None
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Small Business Godsend

As a small business owner, I love using Turbo Tax. Still I like to have a CPA look it over to make sure I didn't miss anything. My CPA advised be to change the way I input the sale of a capital asset. ( I sold a fix and fill house. ) He told me to that I should put the total sale price in column D of form 8849 and add realtor commissions to column G.
This year I also had trouble E-filing and had to mail instead. Although I rebooted my Mac as requested, it still wouldn't work.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Great to be stepped through a schedule C.
What's not so great: Difficult to find how to input short term capital gains from sale property.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
