Turbo Tax is fantastic

I've been using Turbo Tax for approximately the past 20 years now; and I feel confident my returns are correct and straightforward. I love the way it transfers date from one entry point onto all the forms that relate to the entry.

Would not delte form so forced to file it anyway

Tried 4 times to delete a form the program created for a non existent entity
Program would not delete so only way to file was to fill in blank bogus information
For safety sake bought audit defense since it was program's creation
What's great about it: ease of entry
What's not so great: wont delete forms it created in error

I feel confident that my return is prepared correctly. I was surprised that TurboTax could handle a self-rental property.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: None Really

Got it done quickly because it saves information from prior year. Love all of the help that is available online for problem solving.
What's great about it: Efficiently got a complicated tax year done and I feel good that it is correct.
What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to delete past entries
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I think that TurboTax could be more in depth when it comes to business deductions/expenses regarding certain businesses. At times I was at a loss as to which expenses falls under which category. Thanks.
What's great about it: Overall OK
What's not so great: Business

Tax time is a stressful time. TURBO TAX takes away alot of that stress. I feel confident the software is correct and accurate. I purchase the audit protection (which is not expensive) and that too reduces worries. I am not an accountant but I knowTurbo Tax is developed for people like me.
What's great about it: The questions are clearly worded,Help is great and its like talking to someone versus running software.
What's not so great: I don't like paying taxes. But that's not your fault.

Still needs improvement

Backwards compatibility is tough. The software should value its legacy customers highly. Each year, Intuit wants customers to pay an upgrade charge for the new release to cover their R&D charges. The covenant is, we won't screw up your new data based upon our erroneous assumptions and workarounds of the past. This year, I started from scratch, because the integration from Quicken 2014 and TurboTax 2014 is SO POOR that it made no sense to propagate old and inaccurate information into a new return.
What's great about it: If one starts from scratch, one can trap errors or misinterpretations from Quicken 2014 import or previous returns.
What's not so great: Often enters information from Quicken or previous TurboTax releases that is inaccurate due to transcription errors.

Gets Better Every Year
on March 30, 2014

This went very well. I really love this tool. I will just focus on minor areas for improvement.
One bug cost me some time -- on my display then entering stock acquisition dates and costs some lines overprinted and I thought it was asking for sales date rather than acquisition date as a result, and I had to reenter them all.
The invitation to download from brokerages seemed more subtle this year and I had to go back to look for it.
I was surprised that you had me check for updates to software when I was essentially done rather than up front.
I loved having last year's charities as default options. I wish you also defaulted or mentioned last year's amount for each as I do it through a company program and it doesn't change much, would have saved me a lot of time as I have a lot.
I wish you could convince all of your partner brokerages to include a "download cost basis when you have it" feature or option. One of mine did, and it was wonderful not to have to type it in for each stock.
The AMT workflow wording was a bit confusing but I got through it.
Despite all these minor points, great product folks.
What's great about it: Remembered and queried charities from last year. Few bugs, easy to skip back to locations.
What's not so great: Always room for minor improvements (below) but really good experience.
