Very Good but there are alternatives

I would like to see how the information I am inputting is changing the amount of taxes owed or refund. The program does that to a certain extent but there are expenses you can input which will not change your return because you are taking a standard deduction. If you did your previous year in Turbo Tax it will import your previous year. I could be wrong but I do not think it will import information from Quickbooks.
What's great about it: Guides you through your return.
What's not so great: Costs more than some competitors.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Improves every year, but there are a few glitches

In the early years, I wasn't sure of the value of Turbo Tax, but as tax laws have become more complicated, and my investment companies now provide downloaded data to populate Schedule C, this software has become an essential tool for me. This year, the main glitches I ran into had to do with 1) the software not letting me change my mind about whether to depreciate something, and 2) when I had to delete the depreciation form to fix #1, I wanted to bring up a clean copy of the form for some other items and it was not easy to do this. I ran out of time (my fault, of course) and had to leave a deduction off. Oh, well. If I get audited, at least I will have some deductions to add back to any amended return.
What's great about it: Recalculates almost everything automatically
What's not so great: After deleting a form, we need an easy way to insert a new, blank version of it.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

saving return as real pdf is a pain

What's not so great: 2012 turbo tax copy of return will not print or open

Program checked return, set up for efile, payed the exorbinate fees and as it started to transmit the program asked about an entry and changed the amount due. Money was sent but now it is incorrect!
