Complicated Return Made Easy

I have used Turbo Tax for years now. I have retirement annuities, capital gains, dividends - a fairly wide array of situations. Turbo Tax seems to handle them all with ease. I particularly like the ability to import end of year results from mutual funds and brokerages. It saves immense time and is easy to check and verify
What's great about it: Easy to use. Ease of importing transactions from financial organizations.
What's not so great: If you import data from financial institutions multiple times TT will duplicate info if previously imported
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Makes Quick Work of a Distastefull Task

I have been using Turbo Tax since the mid 1990's and have seen improvements that make the process of filing my taxes each year easier. I usually have my taxes filed early every year but this year things have come up that have caused me put off doing my tax return but now I am finished and a load has been lifted off my shoulders.

need to add Gas Royalty

the only problem I have with T is it does not accommodate my Gas Royalty -pretty important! I have rental houses I rent and I also get gas royalty from. TT does not do the Gas Royalty!! You need to fix this!

Almost perfect.

Got caught in a loop that came up when it did the review. It asked about fixing a line on Schedule C, line 8 but there was no way to know where to go to input the right data. There was also no clear indication of what kind of answer was required; date, time period, dollar amount, number.
There should be a link on the review topic in question to take you to the line in the Turbo Tax form where you see the specific question it is looking for.
Other than that it works real well.

Disappointed that the program said that I was entitled to a free state tax filing and had to pay for it at the end. :(

Very Easy to Use

I have never used Turbo Tax before so I was very satisfied. This made the filing taxes easier than ever. I am so glad I am complete. I am anxious to see how this will help/transfer data for next year's taxes. Thank you Turbo Tax!!!
What's great about it: Easy to follow. Easy to find information on tax forms to enter into Turbo Tax. The instructions made it easy.
What's not so great: Took longer than I thought it might, but still well worth the efforts.

Makes it so easy!

We've been using Turbo Tax for YEARS. Humans make mistakes, but this program finds any errors for you so you can rest easy once it is done.
What's great about it: The program literally "leads you by the nose."
