Quick and Easy!

Turbo Tax is a great alternative to heading over to an office and having an accountant do this. It's cheaper and faster, and possibly even more thorough. It walked me through everything step by step. There were two questions that stumped me but then I cleared that up and it was no prob.

I love the ease of use, But till I found the stupid mistake I made in the first part of my personal stuff I was pulling my hair out. It turns out they ask for all the business stuff in the personal area a second time, but it is not used the second time, just makes for easier errors and increases your audit risk in the indicator. Took all that out and all the errors poof gone!

Fast and accurate

It took me longer to find out how to eliminate information on a Form 2555 than it did to do everything else to file my taxes. In all, however, a first class product.
What's great about it: Easy to enter figures and data
What's not so great: Instructions to change or eliminate something are not clear.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used Turbo Tax for years. With the recent changes in requirements for brokerage firms to report Capital Gains and Losses, and changes in data entry in Turbo Tax, completing Schedule D is much easier than it has been in the past. I love the ability to import data from last year's return.

TurboTax Home & Business saves me yet again

TT is a superb product.
The help with each line item, complete with examples, showing me what to enter is invaluable.
It imports all kinds of stuff from last year (e.g. amortization schedules for home and car).
If an item has already been loaded, TT shows the current value.
If the current value shown isn't right, you can manually change it.
Intuit's judgement about what to include and what to charge extra for is spot on.
I love being able to do my entire family's taxes, including one state, without paying extra.

There was one serious glitch for me this year. I received mortgage assistance due to being unemployed. Filing this correctly, taking into account the mortgage interest deduction, the Hardest Hit Fund, etc. was a bit tricky.
I badly needed help understanding what to do, and TT didn't even recognize the 1098-MA form. Online TT help wasn't at all clear. The regulations with regard to mortgage assistance are not all that complex, and there is no reason that TT couldn't have explained my options.
I guess there is no perfect world. I will certainly buy TT again next year.

Smooth Sailing

Turbo Tax makes tax preparation easy. I have been using TurboTax Home and Business edition for my W2 employment, for my own self employment business and my investment trading since 2005 and would not consider changing.
Also have to say that TurboTax Support personnel have always been friendly and right on target to get me on track when I encounter any issues or have a question.
What's great about it: Ease of use and great customer support
What's not so great: E-Filing transmission errors but ok after deleting cookies

First time I've used TurboTax and was pleasantly surprised how easy it is. Won't ever go back to accountant.
