Easy way to file

much easier than reading the tax book, and best way to find all your deductions just by clicking thru
What's great about it: thorough and easy step by step
What's not so great: little difficult to go back and find certain areas
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It did all what it can to maximize my refund

Over all, it is the best and will continue to use it and recommend it to people I know.
What's great about it: The guidance is extraordinary and simple to understand
What's not so great: It did not give me credit for home office and other work expenses

My refund was complicated as it was reduced.

To use Turbo Tax (TT) is helpful as I could not complete all the requirements without TT help. That is why I used TT for many years. I have not been audited yet. But last year 2013, I had a big problem with the California Franchise Tax Board. In 2010 Tax Return, they demand payment of $17,000.00 state tax altho we are not California residence, but Nevada residence. The FTB was in error. But the damage FTB had done was cruel. They freeze my bank account and safe deposit box.
What's great about it: Unanswered questions were resvoled.
What's not so great: Many questions may be unneccessary to answer.

Needs an index of completed, partialy completed andal uncomp;leted pages.
This index should allow you to go to any page directly from the indes.
What's great about it: Thorough -
What's not so great: moving back takes too many strokes.

TurboTax Is AWFUL

Your product is horrible. For example, when I initially filed my taxes, I owed money. I sent the checks in. Then there was no way to account for those payments after the fact (only if estimated or with an extension). Then I had a refund due, but because I owed money originally, it wouldn't let me choose a refund. The worst is, even after hitting "Amend a Return," I still don't think it did a proper amendment because there is no document that says "Amended Return." I am terribly afraid that my taxes are an utter mess!
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: The product makes a mess!!
Pros: I had a baby, I bought or sold investments
