I feel SO SUPPORTED

I LOVE Turbo Tax. I realized a few years ago that I was doing all the work for my tax preparer, and then waiting for the other shoe to drop-my results were always so unpredictable.. I feel SO in control of where my information goes, what it affects and where to find it all!
What's great about it: Questions, "Put here-not here-", "Well ask for this later", Form views!
What's not so great: Errors, should take you to where you can FIX them...

Simplicity!

Easy to use for business and personal. Helps lessen forgotten items. It's deductible is great. City forms and rita forms a little hard to complete on program since I own rentals in three different cities.
What's great about it: Personal and business all in one easy program. Improvements on rentals great.
What's not so great: need better rita and city help with forms on state program.

Easy and logical to follow instructions. Great feature that it rolls over data form one year to the other which avoids missing things that need to be reviewed. The side by side comparisons of last year to this year provides and important perspective.
What's great about it: Easy to use and I really like the way you roll over the information from one year to the next.
What's not so great: Nothing except the need to do taxes

Very Through

Turbo tax was very through in the questions it presented during the interview. It made you look into every deduction you are entitled to. It will be easier next year when Turbo Tax and import information from this year's return.
What's great about it: A lot cheaper than using an accountant
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good Product

It's a good product. Have been using Turbo Tax ever since it came on the market. I would no longer attempt to complete my returns by hand. Had some problems with falsely identified errors on 1099 INT worksheets in the state return section. Instructions on completion of Schedule K-1 were not very clear. Had to take my best guess on some parts. Overall, I believe it's the best such product on the market and have no plans to change.
What's great about it: Walked me through. Transferred data from previous year.
What's not so great: Not real clear on Schedule K-1 instructions. Falsely indicated errors on 1099 INT worksheets.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Challenging on state tax
on April 9, 2014

The Federal part of the filing was pretty straightforward now that I have been doing this for several years but the State part had questions I would need a tax professional to answer. This left me feeling vulnerable. There were several references to going back to 2012 forms and pulling data.My 2012 filing either did not have those forms or had no entries there. Alternately, the program should have identified the forms and required fields and auto-updated them.
What's great about it: Federal part was pretty clear
What's not so great: references were made to 2012 forms that did not exist or should have been pulled automatically
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
