I have been doing my taxes on turbo tax for a few years now. The step by step instructions for farming are easy to follow. There are so many misc. deductions with farming I need to itemize them out for my own knowledge and you make that easy. Thank You
What's great about it: Very easy to follow
What's not so great: I didn't care for the online version

At the point of listing "First time Homebuyer credit" on a joint return, the logic doesn't cover both spouses. Makes an underpayment because of assumption. (Partly my fault for accepting the repayment due from just one entry on interview. No follow up for 2nd spouse credit. Same condition at IRS web page. Have to enter both spouses to get total credit and net repaid to date.
What's great about it: efficient and logical steps adn questions
What's not so great: "look back" not as thorough as possible
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Not your best year

Would have been nice to have the IT SBD available electronically. it delayed by preparations by several days because I had to contact the State of Ohio.
What's great about it: Helpful hints were excellent
What's not so great: lack of IT SBD in software - no update
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

This was a particularly challenging year tax-wise this was the first year in which approx half of our income was in the form of 1099, we were working from a home office and we moved this year. I contemplated going to an accountant but decided to give tubro tax a try primarily because USAA endorses you and I could access your sw through USAA. I ran into two central errors, one I just could not figure and the second (involving linking worksheet) did not work on the online interface. The turbo tax rep walked me through the entire return, including figuring out that the technical problem required that i download the desktop version and complete my return that way. I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate the great customer support.
What's great about it: Friendliness and Helpfulness
What's not so great: missing some of the sw capability on the web version

Again after many successful tax returns using Ttax this year was also a success. Was able to complete the families' returns with ease and timeliness.

Simplified the Complex

With a simplified filing system all year long not warranting a programmatic systemic approach, the Business software make the tedium of year end reconciliation as painless as possible and hopefully satisfies all the IRS complexities.
What's great about it: Made Small Business filing easy
What's not so great: Differing prices store to store vs direct
