Easy Does It

I have used Turbo Tax for at least 6 years now. I like the peace of mind that it gets done right and relatively easy.
What's great about it: Good guidance, clear process
What's not so great: Don't see return until complete?

turbotax has struck rock bottom

State forms don't import 1099-B data. Force you to complete most lines manually, the charges you for an efile it won't submit.
What's not so great: state returns incomplete, full or errors and charge for non-efile

Great Software

I've been using TurboTax for over 20 years. I have never had a problem with it and it always adds new features before you even think about them. It's always easy to update forms too.
What's great about it: Easy to use, easy to understand, easy to file
What's not so great: None
Pros: I bought or sold investments

A few glitches but good turnout

I have used Turbo tax for about 12 years now. This year seemed to have some disturbing issues. Not all of my 2012 information carried over - my refund showed $1000 less than what it actually was. After investigating, it seems that my donations did not come forward as they should have. This might have something to do with Intuit converting from It's Deductible within the application to it being online now. I don't remember it being an issue last year. So this comes into play if you really want to compare year over year numbers and tax rates. Mine are now skewed for the 2012 year. Another issue is the business section did not ask me about my household deductions this year. I had to go into it the long way and 'force' it to take me to those screens so I could put in my gas, electric, water numbers to allow a deduction for home based business. Again, not a huge issue but it did waste a fair amount of my time figuring it out. Overall, I am happy with TurboTax and will use it again next year but be careful to double check your numbers and forms - don't want to leave any money on the table for Uncle Sam!
What's great about it: Felt that it really takes alot of the guesswork out of taxes
What's not so great: Had to go over several sections multiple times

Overall, an excellent program. It seems to be quite comprehensive.
What's great about it: I like the step by step procedure.
What's not so great: Hard to backtrack to a particular point in step by step procedure.

standard deduction page needs to include selection option for medical/ health care premiums.

Super Easy!!

I was hesitant to try Turbo Tax, as we are small business owners and some things can get complicated. I am a 22 Year old female with minimal tax filing experience...it is so easy! They are great about explaining things more in-depth if you don't understand something. Turbo Tax is a tax essential every year for me!
What's great about it: Very user friendly!
What's not so great: Can't think of anything I didn't like!
