This was a great help. And I really appreciated having a person on the other end of the phone to help if I needed it.

I love that Turbo Tax will guide me through the sections or allow me to explore on my own. I have a farm, and do not know how I would file my taxes for it without Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: easy to use
Pros: I had a baby

What's not so great: Having to pay for state efile
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Trusted Program

I have used Turbo Tax for as long as I can remember. It is easy to use and attempts to follow an "interview" type format. It is a little difficult to go back and review pages from prior entries but all and all a simple dependable program. The Audit Defense purchase helps to put my mind at ease in case of an audit.
What's great about it: Step by Step walk through
What's not so great: Some areas still too technical

Completed complex return!

I've found it useful to flip between the guided walk-through and views of the forms as they are completed. Closing and opening the program helps to propagate changes through to the forms.
Filling out the annualized information for late withholding penalties was annoying. If you held my hand more, I'd like it. I had to do it anyway, pencil and paper version. e.g. What were the dates and amounts of your dental bills? When did you make that donation? And then you (the little folk in my computer handling my input) would organize the data, find sums for each period to fill in the Schedule AI.
What's great about it: Gets the job done with minimal frustration.
What's not so great: Taken me years to find and learn how to use many features
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's not so great: File was not availabe once I finished process but delayed efiling

Went smoothly

I think you can make the HSA portion of the return much easier. It was a little confusing what to put where. I really had to think this one through to be sure it was correct. This is the only area where I felt unsure of what I was entering and why. I'll look next year to see if you've improved this.
What's great about it: carry over historical info to help fill in the necessary blanks
What's not so great: HSAs were a little trouble
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Home Business prep NOT as easy as previous years

Initially, the interview had me enter information for my business. Then later, I discovered that these entries were NOT for a home business.
I noticed that health/Medicare payments were requested to be entered in to locations. 1 in busniess 2. in personal. I hope that the information is not double entered and will cause me an audit.
What's great about it: Still my favorite way to prepare my taxes
What's not so great: Duplication in entries of interview.
