I found it very frustrating that I couldn't locate for review or identify a way to print just State quarterly vouchers for 2014. Apparently the only way to get access to them is to print the entire return. I have completed my return though I do not want to file at this time because brokerage firms are notorious for sending amended year end amended/corrected statements. There needs to be an option to access and print these quarterly estimated tax vouchers.
What's not so great: Inability to print specific forms
Turbo tax step-by-step set up is very easy and make filling simple. I like the print forms that have a break down of tax returns from previous years. The online support was very helpful since it was my first time filling out forms for my small business. An when I needed extra help I was able to speak with a tax associate.
What's great about it: It was easy to get in touch with support and I didn't have to wait on the phone.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
To much information required that is not generally necessary to the average tax payer. Need a short form turbo tax for uncomplicated tax returns. You need to follow the approved tax form numbers in order to understand what it is you want to be reviewed.
What's not so great: difficult to use for older adults
This is an extremely easy to use tax preparation software. It will walk you through step-by-step and ask about things that you are likely to overlook or forget. Highly recommended
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Have not found any
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
Entering info was easy. The questions are complete. Just get together all my w2's et cetera and fill in the blanks. The program seems very complete. However --- I had to go back to change an entry. It was difficult to find this specific entry. Finally I went to the forms section to locate the entry line. ----- and I found the charitable contributions section to be terrible. It now asks me to list every individual item, shirt by shirt, pants by pants, each individual item at a time. No way am I going to do that, I have a list of everything if I am ever audited. It would take me an excessive amount of time to use this 'charitable contributions' list. They have turned an easy-to-use section into he-l -- I finally gave up and possibly gave up deductions too. This alone makes me question buying Tubo Tax next year.
What's great about it: ease of entry of information
In general, the program is good and convenient. Yet, I would recommend to add the feature to enable programming prepayments for Federal tax for the next year. I saw this feature only for the state tax.
What's great about it: smart and convenient
What's not so great: lacks a feature to program Federal tax prepayment for the next year
