Love using Turbo Tax for Home and Business. I have been using it for over 25 years and never have a problem. Simple, quick and easy to use. Thanks Turbo Tax.
When I got an error it wasn't obvious or I was not directed how to correct it. So it took some time to figure it out. It asked questions from 2012 return which was on my computer but I had to look through the return to answer them. It should have.
What's great about it: Good, too many questions but expected.
What's not so great: Errors and last year's return.
Overall, very good and easy to understand. There are a few items that come up during error checking that should have been automatically entered but were not. Also, why is there a difference between no entry and zero dollars entry? Lastly, a few things pop up as not suited for e-file from the w-2. That should be eliminated by addressing that up front when entering W-2 information.
Overall, very good. I would recommend to others that I think have the basic common sense to follow the step-by-step guide.
What's great about it: Guide through the boxes of W-2, 1099's and 1098-T's, common sense questions.
What's not so great: Don't understand the difference of "blank" vs zero?
Special stock situations arising from employer stocks seemed easier to handle this year, because the examples given were much clearer. Download from websites was pretty good, only had one problem with employer W2. Really liked ability to jump around as needed. Have been a satisfied user for nearly 20 years!
What's great about it: Improved Employer stock handling
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
I've used Turbotax (formerly Macintax) for over a decade. It's never failed to address every detail of my somewhat complicated tax return requirements (my wife is a self-employed artist). Each year, I feel the product has been improved over the prior year. Thanks, Intuit, for growing with my needs over the years.
What's great about it: Integration of Small Business into Personal Return
