another good experience

Been using TurboTax for years. Always pleased. For a simple, single individual or married-filing-jointly that work outside the home, I'm not sure it could get any easier/simpler. I do wish there was a tutorial or detailed questionaire to help with home-based business portion of the return. Not very clear where to input what expenses. i.e... confused again this year as to whether or not to include spouse's (home-based business owner's) portion of insurance premiums paid through other spouse's employer (after speaking to several others outside of TT, decided not to). Have to categorize and label your own business expenses. TT does not help much with this. All in all, we will be using it again next year.
What's great about it: simple, straight-forward, cost-effective
What's not so great: not real clear how to enter deductions for home-based business

Over ten years with TurboTax

The older I get, the more complicated my taxes get with investments, job changes, business expenses, donation handling, it's all been fairly simple with TurgoTax!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I thought I would save myself almost $1,000 by doing my taxes myself. I think it is all OK and TurboTax tells me that it is. I'll wait for the refunds to show up to see that all is well, but I did take the Audit Care thing just in case. I'd recommend this to anyone, especially those like myself whose accountant's fees have shot up - and I'm doing all the work myself in getting the information together anyway.
What's great about it: It was easy to enter almost all the material.
What's not so great: Wasn't so easy to enter some of the brokerage material.

Turbo Tax - Job Well Done!

I have been a TurboTax user for more years than I remember. Each year TurboTax has effortlessly led me through what would have been a daunting task: my taxes. I have two home based businesses and TurboTax makes my tax computations easy.
Audit Defense has been a life saver to me. I have been audited twice in the past four years (each time it was my fault, not the programs) and Audit Defense has been there to help.
What's great about it: Program is easy to install. Easy interface and informative.
What's not so great: Price goes up each year

Not so painful

I like the convenience of doing my taxes at home, in my pj's, no pressure. I save so much money too! I do miss having the expert but every year I leave my accountant's office feeling I've been overcharged. I would love it if the program could give you specific advice for saving in the upcoming year based on your tax bracket. I will most definately use this program next year.
What's great about it: Asks the same questions my accountant does
What's not so great: Some tax detail is hard to understand without an acoounting degree. It's nice to have a real person advising you.

Excellent, even for complicated taxes!

I have retirement income, business income, K-1 and other business ventures and rental income, and can do it all myself with this product! Granted, I DO have an accounting background, but I've been using this program for years and have very pleased. I'd like to see a bit of fine-tuning, though, of the Estimated Tax calculations. It seems to either WAY over-estimate or under-estimate.

Helpful , but...

You can still make errors, which I usually catch myself, becaue I've checked something incorrectly or entered number in the wrong box. Turbo tax will not catch those errors and will carry them right through the whole return. Just know that it is only as smart as the user. Have to say though that I use this every year and speeds up the process immensely.
What's great about it: much easier than doing manually
What's not so great: TurboTax is ONLY as smart as the User who enters info

My return was much easier than I thought. I own a small business and we have grown a lot this year. The tax return was much more painless than I thought. glad I did them with TurboTax.
