Online was way better

I did my taxes with the disc (last year was online), and I had all sorts of delays and frustrations getting my taxes done. I will only do online turbotax or go elsewhere from now on.
The updater constantly quits and locks up the program. Must use task manager to quit program. Failed in the middle of sending the return to the IRS...and now I cannot get the program to start and finish.
There were a couple of areas where the entry of tax documents seemed out of place, but that might just be new tax laws??
The return was relatively easy, and stopping in a particular place was not difficult because opening the program took me right back to where I left off.
My kids were able to do their tax returns on their own as well!
What's great about it: Had choice of whether or not to go through EasyStep. It was helpful to see a side/side comparison with last year's ret.
What's not so great: Had to pay for e-file state; Credit Convenience Fee is extremely high!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I have never had an issue using Turbotax and I no-longer dread doing my taxes. Easy to install, quick to compile even with schedule "C". Gather your data and before you know it you will be seeing the "transmitted" on the screen.
I am happy with the program overall. I contacted the help center via my phone and they were able to solve my problem by downloading a program directly to my computer that allowed me to make corrections to the specific form and the specific line entry. I've used Turbo Tax for 9 years and plan to use it in the future.
What's great about it: folowing the step by step guide is very easy.
What's not so great: I had trouble correcting an entry.
The W2G section is antiquated. If you have several from the same payee (very likely if you gamble) Turbo Tax forces you to type in the EIN address name etc. Obviously this is a simple fix to have the same payee populate. I had to enter data 20 TIMES
What's great about it: Importing data from sources
What's not so great: Multiple W-2G from same payee does not auto populate name address etc.
