Taxes Made Simple

Turbo Tax is the only way to go. It's a lot easier than having
to read and understand all the tax forms and not as expensive as going to a CPA.

Used turbotax every year. Never disappointed. eluded to one form I couldn't find in my last year forms for carryover of something... maybe 1562? Fear it was the fault of the IRS and not turbotax as all other forms were fully explained and referenced from last year. Would not have made a difference in my return. I like that I can easily go back or jump around. The final check is awsome.
What's great about it: easy
What's not so great: nothing i didn't like
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Happy with TT for over 10 years

I've been using TurboTax for over 10 years. It's easy to use and doesn't require much knowledge of tax law. It has done my taxes right every year. No complaints.
I would like to be able to go more easily go from one section to another, from one subsection to another or even from one individual question to another. For example, if you click on "Business" you are sent back to the very beginning of that section. I would prefer that it would open up a menu of the various subsections within Business and then you would click on a subsection to get to individual questions. Similar to the hierarchical directory of folders, subfolders and individual files in Windows, for example.
Regardless, it's a nice product that gets better each year.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Can't go easily to individual sections or questions

Good, As Usual

I like the format and process.... BUT I have three "I wish it were different" issues. 1) It is difficult and time consuming to go back to a previous area or page if it is a ways back or in a different section. 2) There are no "help" screens in my Montana State program. 3) If you do not Itemize in the Federal because the Standard Deduction is better, the State can't itemize.
Thanks for the years of tax prep help. I've been with it since the Intuit Tax Software days.
What's great about it: The overall process is easy to flow through.
What's not so great: No info on state return.

Well Done Program

I really like this program. It offers excellent user interface and ease of use. One thing I would like to see is an easier way to compare detailed aspects of filings for prior year, for example an explicit side-by-side comparison of individual line item entries for W-2's, 1099's, etc. This way, if I had, for example, a 1099 from last year, I could see how this year's for the same company compares. This is a minor nit, and to be fair the higher level comparison of prior year numbers gives a good comparison.
What's great about it: Easy to use, easy to get to details quickly
What's not so great: Could you more contextual help

Great for Experts and Beginners

I worked for six years for a big name tax preparation company. Your software is very user friendly and great for tax people who understand the tax law and just want to prepare their taxes without being forced to go through screens they know they don't need to.
What's great about it: Ability to go directly to the items I wanted to work on

Easy and Fast

I remember the last time I paid someone to do my taxes. The attendant was basically filling out a computer based form like TurboTax. When I asked questions, the attendant couldn't give me straight answers, and gave me the impression that she really didn't know what she was doing. After paying 5 times what TurboTax costs, I decided to switch to TurboTax and ditch the over-priced rookies. That was 10 years ago and I've been using TurboTax ever since.
