Easy as Always

Turbo Tax is what we have used for ALL our tax returns. We have complex returns with rental properties, small business expense and other "odd ball" stuff. Turbo Tax always takes us through the process without complications. If we are ever unsure, we have the "community" to refer to and always get the additional Audit Defense, just in case.
What's great about it: Easy Guide for all areas needed
What's not so great: Nothing!!

The IRS rules dictating when you live in your primary residence for longer than 5 years and then having to move to stay employed and renting your home after moving and then selling your home have so many exceptions and are very confusing. TurboTax didn't ask the right questions in an easy manner to understand and I had to read tons of IRS paperwork to even "try" and figure it out.
What's great about it: Cheaper than CPA
What's not so great: Very confusing on renting and then selling primary residence

I've used Turbo Tax for many years now for my business.. Always does a great job with few problems. Years ago I spent hours and hours in the library going over the new tax codes. What a nightmare!
What's great about it: Asks the right questions
What's not so great: None

I've been using Turbo Tax for 5 or 6 years now. I love the way it compares the previous year to the current year. It holds my hand all the way through, making it hard to make a mistake. Costs about one sixth of what my accountant used to charge.
What's great about it: Very user friendly
What's not so great: None

With a little time and work, this is the easiest solution that covers all my home and business tax categories.
What's great about it: Lays out questions easily...finds things I'd never find in all the IRS docs.
What's not so great: Errors rectification is at the end and is sometimes confusing as to what you are answering for.

Turbo-Tax is generally good for entering the needed information and I have continued to use it for several years now. However, the search mechanism is very simplistic and therefore not very useful to me. Go-backs are very frustrating for 2 reasons: they usually require navigation through the entire section to get to the desired item; also, I was unable to return to the estimated tax selection dialogue, and then was caught in a loop where the program kept returning to the start of the review section when continue was selected at the end of the review. The only way out was to go to "file" at that point.
What's great about it: Simplifies entries
What's not so great: Difficult go-backs and unnecessary prolonged walk-throughs
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
