Some Good, Some Bad

This was my first attempt at a business return in many years, and the new process was confusing. Much of the terminology was bewildering. Perhaps you could add a second level of explanation for novices.
My brokerage firm always seems to date some of their transactions in the year following the tax year. I have no way of knowing whether the date is accurate, but it is always zero sum. Can you provide a delete capability instead of asking me to make up a date or do basically useless research?
What's great about it: Still easy to use and provides good guidance for the most part.
What's not so great: It asked for forms like 1099r and didn't clearly show how to pull up those forms from the previous year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TOOK A LONG TIME!

Took me 8 hours to finish! Granted there were lot of items to cover (purchase and sale of 2 houses, 2 rental properties, etc.). I liked the step-by-step guide.
At the end it got frustrating. The software detected some errors in input/ calculations but had no clue how to fix them. A suggested value to enter for the erroneous entries will be helpful!.
What's great about it: INTERACTIVE
What's not so great: IT COULD NOT SELF CORRECT THE ERRORS DETECTED AT THE END OF THE PROCESS
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Excellent and the best way to prepare your taxes. Easy explanations and able to ask questions and obtain professional help if needed. Should be used by everyone except those with the most obscure and complicated cases.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, does a great job
What's not so great: None
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2013 Turbo Tax

Once I had entered all of my information, TurboTax went and checked for errors and omissions. It found something and asked me to fill in a blank, but I had no clue what I was supposed to enter. It related to selling a vehicle that we had used for business. It was asking how much had been depreciated on that vehicle for the past several years. When I answered it to my best ability, the program kept on asking me the same question and I just continued to enter "0" in all of the blanks. The instructions were not clear at all and as a result, our refund was reduced for reasons that were probably not legitimate. However, I had no idea how to fix that step. Oh well. It wasn't a large amount of refund, so I didn't fuss. I was too anxious to be finished with it all. The rest of the process went smoothly and easily and I will definitely use TurboTax again next year.
What's great about it: Ease of data entry
What's not so great: Lack of clarity when fixing errors/omissions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Second year in a row that I paid for the state up front and did not get it. To save time I just went ahead and purchased it with a credit card to get it gone. No one to contact directly to immediately right this wrong, so just took the hit.

Loosing it's egde

This is my eleventh year of using TurboTax. I am getting disenchanted with TurboTax. It seems to be getting more confusing and it's not just because tax law is getting more confusing. If you know what info needs to go on a certain form it is very difficult to find where in step-by-step to enter it, and if you go directly to the form that seems to cause problems with overriding values.
This year there is a bug that tells you that the Schedule D form is under construction even though it has been updated. I think it is because I started my return before the final form was available. Other users reported starting over to get past the problem
Because of that problem I have to mail forms 8453 and 8949 even though I efiled.
What's great about it: Handles all the situations I need
What's not so great: Confusing to try to figure out where certain info needs to go.
