1. When asked if a retirement was a certain type there was no definitive answer for the question.
2. When asked to print you are then asked to save or preview, but not to print. You can only print if you print the saved PDF file. Why so confusing?
What's great about it: Processed tax info
What's not so great: Questions not always succinct

The program did not prompt me to update on original install, and it never fully recovered from this. As a result I was unable to e-file, a significant nuisance.
What's great about it: as usual, makes the complicated simple
What's not so great: this year, the updating process did not work properly

Took my about 3 hours to finish my tax return. It's simple and easy. I used Turbo tax for sereral years and I like it.
What's great about it: The simple way to get refund
What's not so great: Failed to import my w2 form
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The estimated state sales tax does not register automatically. After finishing the process, you have to go back to the sales tax page to force the calculation.
Other than that, the filing is a snap!
What's great about it: Great questions.
What's not so great: Inactive Pages

Getting Easier Every Year

TT is easier to use every year and much less confusing. Did my taxes in hours instead of days.
What's great about it: Few instances of confusion.
What's not so great: When making corrections TT takes you to the tax form but doesn't allow you to open the interview.

program adds extra lines to SCH D & SCH E for investments.wastes more time trying to figure out how/why it did it. Wastes paper printing out and doesn't allow you to E file without a special pin. best to just mail to begin with.
What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: will not allow you to do a review without messing up
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

quite acceptable every year, but there remains the confusing categorization of certain expenses, esp. vehicle & transport: two or more possible locations exist, with different reasons and impacts; the tax code may have made this a bad situation, but TT should help clarify better, including warnings that another location might be more appropriate...
What's not so great: still not making clear enough distinctions...

I have used turbo tax for several years. I can not understand why anyone would go to a tax preparer and spend hundreds when it is so easy to do it yourself with turbo tax.
What's great about it: easy to understand
