Could Use Some Improvement
on April 12, 2014

If the step by step method were changed to provide information about what form was being completed and what it relates to, e.g., a partnership, it would be better.
What's great about it: Using the step-by-step method you can get through it.
What's not so great: The step-by-step method hides what you are actually doing

Excellent Technical Support - Saved my File!

TT worked fine up to the time it was going to update the application. Computer locked up and corrupted the file.
Was very happy I could get a person on the phone in 5 min to help.
Tech support patiently directed me to download updated software. Re-launched and file was now readable. Saved hours of work if I had to re-enter all the data.
First time in a decade I had any problems with TT, but support came through. thanks.
What's great about it: Tech suppport rep did a great job re-downloading software and saving what TT was calling a "corrupt file"
What's not so great: Computer locked up when TT was downloading updates the first time. File became "corrupt" and unreadable. Panic set in.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I've used Turbo Tax before. I like the way it seems to guide me through all the categories. I do a Schedule C as well as the usual forms, and the step by step walkthrough helps me remember all the items that need to be entered. Good work Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy walkthrough step by step
What's not so great: Explanations could be better.

1. When asked if a retirement was a certain type there was no definitive answer for the question.
2. When asked to print you are then asked to save or preview, but not to print. You can only print if you print the saved PDF file. Why so confusing?
What's great about it: Processed tax info
What's not so great: Questions not always succinct

The program did not prompt me to update on original install, and it never fully recovered from this. As a result I was unable to e-file, a significant nuisance.
What's great about it: as usual, makes the complicated simple
What's not so great: this year, the updating process did not work properly

The estimated state sales tax does not register automatically. After finishing the process, you have to go back to the sales tax page to force the calculation.
Other than that, the filing is a snap!
What's great about it: Great questions.
What's not so great: Inactive Pages
