Very very good.

I have done my own taxes for years. I was up against a new challenge with my taxes regarding 401Ks. Turbotax got me through it smoothly. Thanks Turbotax!

I've been using Turbo Tax for years and have very few complaints.
What's great about it: You can enter without the interview
What's not so great: Depreciation difficult to calculated on old items

A Hard Time

1) questionnaire repetitive, too many instances where information should have been auto-filled wasn't.
2# too many instances where questions were phrased in "tax speak," rather than simply stated; and link to further explanation was not helpful.
3# Glitch: Problem with 1099-R: prevented from filing NY State because line 12a #1,200.00) was misread as greater than and equal to line 2a #12,000.00). forced to print file and submit by snail mail.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to do
What's not so great: Too many glitches this year...
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

- Wish there was a way to edit transferred data from a previous tax return, once already uploaded into the new tax return
- Few of the new topics, which applied towards my situation, were not thoroughly explained or not enough examples were given (i.e. deductions in regards to work-related move - turbo tax should explain if people who move because of wanting a better job or further experience in their field, although not previously having applied or having been accepted by an employee, should be included in this deduction)

Quick & easy

I've used TurboTax for the past 5 years and it's great! Takes me about 3 hours to answer all the questions (I have a rental property too). I just answer all the questions and it itemizes everything for me.
What's great about it: asked all the questions
What's not so great: I still need to gather all my forms
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Just Great

I've been using Turbotax for at least thirty years for business and rental purposes. It has always been good and improves every year. This year seems to be better than ever. Now that I'm retired and selling my income producing property, it even works very well on that.
What's great about it: All good
What's not so great: None

Estimated function is broken

In several locations items marked Estimated could not unmarked nor could the source item be found directly. Only solution I found was to start all over again and not mark anything Estimated. Very much inconsistent with overall flow of software. Very much inconsistent with historical experience with TurboTax and it's Estimated function. Disappointed.
What's great about it: Overall fair - Turbotax user for many years
What's not so great: Estimated function very badly broken in error review section
