Thanks for the extra help

By and large it was excellent -- step by step, easy to follow, for both my main job and side business. Fill-in-the-blanks beats the heck out of having to think about everything. The main problem was an 60-day rollover to an IRA that I couldn't figure out how to enter correctly. Finally, I called customer service, and after an interminable wait, talked to a very pleasant young lady who understood the problem exactly and walked me step-by-step through it -- solved the problem perfectly!! And she resolved a couple of peripheral problems along the way. I like how everything is linked, so things are automatically updated, connected, etc., and information from previous years is brought in. I fully intend to keep using TurboTax!
What's great about it: Easy to follow, step-by-step
What's not so great: Sometimes hard to figure out how to correct an incorrect answer, or find the right answer to begin with

Good program except for K-1 information

K-1 inputs do not transfer to form 1116 correctly if you have more than one of them for some reason and TurboTax help is not helpful.
What's great about it: Easy entry of most information
What's not so great: Have recurring problems with K-1 and form 1116 entries every year

The product excels - and that is why I have used it for 25++ years. It is a comfort to know that the product is so well designed and supported. Audit Defense is amazing - or I got very lucky with the rep assigned to my issue in past. Try to get some of the complicated nature organized so users can regain the intuitive feel. Try to work on the hlp. It is simply useless except for the most basic questions. Community searches are like a needle in a haystack.
What's great about it: Complete. Thorough. Well integrated. Mostly intuitive.
What's not so great: Have lost some of the intuitive nature of the product over the years. Getting help in specific areas is weak.

Excellent Product

I have used TurboTax for the past three years since my CPA made an error on my taxes and charged me more than I have paid in the last three years to prepare my own taxes via TurboTax (even with audit defense and e-file fees). I would recommend this product. I never imagined doing my own taxes until TurboTax. Excellent product!
What's great about it: Ease of use.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The easy to use guide to help you enter data is very useful. One improvement is to have the calculator icon present and have it scroll the data entries as you go

2013 Tax Process

I've used Turbo Tax for years without any issues or problems. This year, I thought I would try a different brand of software. Big mistake. After installing, I discovered the only way to get my information in the program was to scan everything. That made me stop right there. I went and got Turbo Tax, and everything went fairly smoothly. (Sending back the other for their 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee.)
I will stick with Turbo Tax from now on.
What's great about it: Easy to install; easy to move through each screen; information windows available when help is needed; free call for help
What's not so great: State return had a section that wasn't clear; had to call for help.

YOU HAVE REALLY SCREWED UP A PROGRAM THAT WASVERY USER FRINDLY IN THE PAST. COUL NOT GET BACK TO SOME FORMS AND NO HELP WAS GIVEN.. I COUNLD GO ON, BUT I'LL QUIT FOR NOW.
