Not as good as it used to be

Turbotax used to be much better for filing returns. The number of schedules and worksheets printed made it easy to validate your output. This year, they seem to have limited what prints, making it a real challenge to validate your return. I'll likely steer away next year.
What's great about it: Still easy to get through the process
What's not so great: Worksheets to check your return are inadequate

Thankful for Turbo Tax

I recommend Turbo Tax to anyone who asks me. It's user friendly, convenient, and the helpful hints are easy to understand.
What's great about it: Helpful hints saved tax dollars
What's not so great: had to go through the business income part
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good, but Could be Better

I've been using TurboTax for years. The first few years showed many improvements, but the last few have shown few if any basic changes. What I would enjoy seeing most is a Google-like response to entires that reads something like, do you mean...? I forgot a decimal point that would up showing me owing more federal tax than my income. This was an obvious error, but I wasn't able to correct it until the review stage and then it took some detective work to find it.

Great Program

Overall I would say 5 stars. I used Turbo tax for the last 20 years or so and I find it great and easy to use. More details of rental property and allowable exceptions should be provided. Also a little more explanations on the alt min tax. why cant the program pull data from last years return when the return is on the same computer. It asked me to supply some info that I thought it should have been able to pull.
What's great about it: The step by step method is great.
What's not so great: Alt Min Tax is still confusing and some details regarding rental property and deduction explanations

Jeanette in New Mexico assured my success. I had trouble with the online Home and Business application and she wouldn't hang up until I had everything I needed.

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and it is easier each year. A very affordable way to do my home business and family taxes with complete confidence.
What's great about it: Easy. Through and confident it is correct

love the program but this year didn't get the update alert when signing on like last year. was 1/3 of way through before I noticed the update to the side. prefer it to flag each time I open program so I know I have latest updates in place.
What's great about it: it guides you through all the deductions

I wouldn't do my taxes any other way. I have been using Turbo Tax for years and I still appreciate the way the step by step guide asks me questions so I don't forget anything! Love the transfer from year to year too.
I do my daighter's taxes that way too. I look forward to the day I can hand her a flash drive and say..you're on your own and everything you need is right here!
