70 years of Tax Returns filed ! ! ! !

I have prepared Federal Tax returns for myself every year since 1945. and for about ten years I also did this for friends and acquaintances.
This Turbo-tax system is without equal. This is the first time I have experienced the process being handled in a simple, straight forward, very understandable and workable manner.
I regret I did not learn of this when it was first established.
I will never use any other process to prepare my taxes .

What's great about it: complete process covers everything-reasonable language to understand
What's not so great: It made me realize I need to do better record keeping, and it will be unbelievable easy.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Last Minute State Check

Idaho state e-file not allowed because of income not supported by Form 1099. It would be nice to perform the final check before I paid for a state e-file.
What's great about it: Automated download of data from Schwab accounts.
What's not so great: After paid for state e-file, one last check was performed that determined a state e-file was not allowed.

Love TT. I for the first time in years have an issue in the it sent my refund off before I could finish and tell it where to send my refund.
What's great about it: Like being asked the questions to help us do it ourselves
What's not so great: Sometimes the more detailed things need more direction

This required me to seek the services of a CPA; after about 6 years of self-filing with TurboTax, I'm going to have to hire a CPA next year instead.
What's great about it: Good for easy to medium returns
What's not so great: Cannot handle 2 kinds of 1099-C's

Turbotax home and business dor Mac 2013

My old laptop timed out with Windows xp. I decided I didn't want to buy a new one right now so I would just do our taxes with our Mac. I bought Turbotax first, then realized Quicken Home and Business isn't available for Mac. It made things a lot more complicated. Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'm now forced to buy a windows based laptop so I can use it for the new version of Quicken for home and business (and Turbotax next year) What's the deal Intuit? You guys need to get with it and get Mac compatible!
What's great about it: Makes filing taxes easier.
What's not so great: No Quicken Home and Business for Mac available

Very smooth operation, easy to use. Make sure you stay with the software version, and don't switch to online version half-way through!
What's great about it: Smooth
What's not so great: Do not confuse with online version!
