Friendly TurboTax

I have used TurboTax for several years. It makes the whole tax preparation bearable. I love that it remembers from year to year vital information so I do not have to insert everything. I was able this year to solve the missing sales tax form with help from the online phone number listing fro Intuit Customer Service. The representative helped me through the process of obtaining the neecessary form. I will continue to use this product.
What's great about it: TurboTax is like an old friend. It asks the questions. remembers from year to year, and holds my hand online.
What's not so great: This years edition (2013) was slow to provide the sales tax form. I had to download it myself.

Got a nice refund!

I had two 1099-S forms that Turbo tax did not have listed under income. This was very timely and cumbersome for me to find where to enter and leaves me wondering if this won't show up on an audit.
What's great about it: I like how Turbo tax walks you through your tax return.
What's not so great: Did not like the absense of 1099-S.

First time filing after retirement

My 10th year with TT, will be back next year.
What's great about it: Had a few uncertainties to start but TT made it easy to comprehend.
What's not so great: None!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Mostly Easy to Use - Some Improvements Possible

I used Home & Business. It's great for simple returns. I give it an "A" if all you have are wages, interest, dividends and the common deductions. Probably more like a "B" if you have a small business or are self-employed. The questions are a little inconsistent. Sometimes the questions are in bold print -- sometimes in small print. Sometimes the questions seem to be in a positive sense -- sometimes negative. Sometimes you have to hit "continue" after every little step -- sometimes the obvious follow-up appears on the screen (which is good).. I found it a little hard to go "back" and correct something -- and a little frustrating when a little clearer explanation up front would help avoid taking the wrong path. Overall, its a pretty good program.
What's great about it: Carry forward from last year is great
What's not so great: Questions are sometimes inconsistent
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Great help for my investments

I am a widow doing my own taxes. The instructions were simple to follow and there was a lot of support material if I had any questions. Having the previous year's documents helped me know what I needed to enter. Can't say enough good things about this software package.
What's great about it: thorough, comprehensive, helpful
What's not so great: kept pushing audit protection

Worth The Money

Turbo Tax has saved me alot of time and aggravation.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax walks you through, step-by-step,also provides a list of allowable deductions.
What's not so great: says it includes a free e-file, but it's not.
