TurboTax is great!

I have used both the professional services of an accountant and I have used TurboTax on several occasions. I find the amount of organization and information gathering I needed to do for TurboTax was no more than what I did for the accountant. The difference is, once everything was done and organized, the return was finished! Much quicker and cheaper!
What's great about it: I like the step-by-step instructions and detailed explanations. Also liked the online chat capability. Very helpful!
What's not so great: Wasn't able to see the progression of the state tax refund as I entered information
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Makes Schedule "C" soooo Easy!

My wife is a sole proprietor. Turbo Tax makes her Schedule "C" so easy for her "tax man". It's not painless, but I spend most of my annual tax time, #and pain#, sorting through her expenses and generating a huge spread sheet. But once I have that spreadsheet done, plugging the numbers into the TurboTax program is a piece of cake.
What's great about it: Idiot-proof
What's not so great: Can't think of one.

very good program, I have used it for the last 6 years. i lilke the way it walks you through everything. Somethimes it is hard to go back. The other thing that i do not like is that all of my information does not transfer to my form 37 for rita. i always lack data and have to go look for it. other than that GREAT
What's great about it: very easy to use most of the time
What's not so great: hard to go back later in the return

I would recommended this software to anybody that can follow simple instructions to use.
What's great about it: Abilty to walk you through in an easy format
What's not so great: Backtracking to put something in (i.e., a business expense was a little difficult to find, but I figured it out.

I have used Turbo Tax for 6 years to file the tax returns for all of my family members. I keep coming back each year because the software loads data from the previous year to minimize the data entry and also provides a year to year comparison.
I also especially like the guided process for completing your return.
What's great about it: the way the software guides you thru the return

It is getting easier each time.
Suggest that you provide a printable outline for how to organize data needed to prepare for entering items in turbo tax.
Love being able to explore on my own/enter on own. However, in some cases (forgot which ones) it is still a little cumbersome to have to back through question by question to get to the right spot. Flags are handy.
Please outline or lightly shade the boxes to be filled in so you can more easily see where to enter the dollar amount -- especially in charitable contributions. date box mm/dd/yyyy was easy to see but box to add $ amount was not.
Also, I wanted to edit the name of the charity but only way to do that was to delete it altogether and add it back.
Glad you dropped requirement to include the address for the charity.
What's not so great: sections when all i wanted to do was fix one item.

I have been using Turbo Tax for years and recommend it to everyone I talk to about taxes. I will continue to use Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax asks all the questions that I need to maximize my refund.
What's not so great: A lot of questions, but not Turbo Tax problem.
